I could also see Coach Kiffin having a set of plays for Sanders in short yardage and goal line situations. Dart is a solid runner, but Sanders is better. You have to love his team-first mentality.
Time of possession these days is so misleading. Schools like Tennessee and Ole Miss will seldom do well in time of possession. They snap the ball so quickly while MSU rountinely goes at a much slower pace.
I agree Clemson doesn't want to come to the SEC. They may not have a choice if a couple of other ACC schools (Florida St, Miami, Virginia, & North Carolina are possibilities) realize the SEC money is too much to turn down. Should that occur, the difference in ACC and SEC money will be even wider. All it takes is a couple of the ACC schools mentioned to bolt, and Clemson has little choice but to follow.
College football is my favorite sport, but the sport lacks leadership. Imagine a major corporation with no CEO. That's what we have. The NFL has an NFL Commissioner. We have conference commissioners acting independently. NFL has a salary cap. College football players now go to largest bidder. Players go anywhere, anytime. NFL has rules for trades, free agency. Of course, Clemson doesn't want more games. They play in a weak conference. Their path is so much easier than the SEC.
the problem is many teams, Ole Miss being just one of them, rarely huddle anymore. So if MSU makes a big play, they are ringing the bells while Ole Miss is trying to call a play. Unfair advantage to allow artificial noise makers for one school only.
I agree. He's spent his entire life in Ohio. He's played and/or coached at 3 schools - Akron, Ohio State, and Cincy. Not only does he have 6 kids, the oldest is a freshman on the team. They are about to join a Power 5 conference. I hope he stays
The only reason would be that he might be able to compete for a championship in the Big 12. The SEC is the # 1 football conference and will get even stronger with Oklahoma and Texas joining soon. The Big 12 will have even less competion for the same reason.
The 1st person who will be offered the job is not on this list. Hint: They will go to the same school that previously gave them a great coach.
I wouldn't have had Alabama v. Miami on that list either. Alabama should win easily.
Texas & Oklahoma would look foolish to make this move only to get rejected by the SEC. If I were the President and/or AD at either school, I'd inquire first to make sure I had the votes. I believe they both do.
Tennessee just didn't know how to cheat. The means they used were incredibly stupid. The "smart" schools just look the other way while their rich alumni pay the players. They don't do it themselves.
Ole Miss fan here but my comment is regarding MSU: With all the disappointment focused on the MSU offense, not enough credit is going to the MSU defense. Personally, I think MSU hit a home run with the hiring of Zach Arnett as defensive coordinator. One could take the Ole Miss offense and the MSU defense and compete with anyone. On the other hand, the Ole Miss D and the MSU O might lose to Delta State.
