Part of being a head coach is the ability to recruit all the talent that CMR does "nothing" with. So, his ability to recruit puts him over these coaches that you listed.
I think it depends on what he means by player development. If you are talking about developing talent, and it translating into the NFL then UGA getting a B+ may be low. If we're talking about developing the players into great team mates, and even good citizens, then we should have a C or lower.
Take a drink each time they mention the word tempo
I guess I'll jump in and make my prediction as well. UGA will have the best defense and a great running game. But Bama at home then a trip to Neyland will be the death of a championship season for the dawgs. Also, Florida is more of a dark horse than UT in my opinion. I'm not quite sure I'm buying that good 6-6 UT and ARK teams run the table next year. 1. MIZZ 2. UGA 3. FU 4. UT 5. USC 6. KENT 7. VANDY While I hate to admit that MIZZ could win the east 3 straight years. Gary Pinkel is one heck of a coach, and my dawgs love to give away a season like no one else does. I do think UGA is better than MIZZ and wins the head to head but loses division again. Much like this year. Good luck to all and Go Dawgs!
I'm glad you at least mentioned the Florida loss, but I don't think the South Carolina loss was near as bad. Richt lost to Spurrier. Big shocker there. It was also at Willy B at night. The worst loss was against Florida. USC was early in the season, those almost don't matter anymore (OSU vs VATech). The Florida loss ended UGA's dream season (again, shocker) but it was against a team who's head coach was fired before the season ended. Much worse IMO.
There's definitely an arguement for that, but I think the reasoning for UGA being 2 instead is because of the head to head demolition and MIZZ performance against BAMA in the SECCG. That's just my assumption.
How about Georgia Southern as a dark horse? Maybe another potential matchup with Florida?
Yes, today was an embarrassing loss, but let's not go on a fire Richt rant. Duley coached for 16 seasons before winning the big one. CMR has a great record and keeps us competative every year. He'll get there when the time is right, and it'll be a great day for the Dawgs.
Yes, but one is Charleston Southern. Unless we turn into Vandy, I think that one is a gimme. So essentially 4 real games left.
That's the best you have? Or all you have? UGA came to your stadium and blanked you. ZERO POINTS. The South Carolina game is completely irrelevant since there is a head-to-head matchup.
I hope it's not Marshall. It would be just like when we played Hawaii.
I agree that Georgia's non-conference is weak for 2015, but "pathetic as usual" is off. We play Tech every year and we usually open up with someone pretty good. Ex. Clemson, Oklahoma State, Boise State. I know they aren't the best but they are better than a lot of the teams other people play.
These arguments saying that we're 4 bad plays or 2 bad plays from being good are ridiculous. Good teams make those plays and bad teams don't. UGA is less than an inch away from beating USC, but we didn't so we're number 10 instead of undefeated and in a national title hunt
Because you're a true dawg fan, and understand how things work for us.
Wolfman, let me go ahead and save you the trouble and inform you that Condi is NOT the reason that Mizzou will not get picked for the college football playoff.
Bama gets Verne and Gary two games in a row. No wonder y'all needed a bye this week.
Georgia fans understand that Hutson Mason is no Aaron Murray, Matt Stafford, or David Greene. But he's not awful. He had his first bad game and we still won. Before Saturday he did exactly what everyone asked of him, he didn't turn the ball over. Game manager. Our offense will be fine. I agree that our secondary was bad, but we all knew that coming into the season. How does UGA win and UT and Arkansas automatically look like teams that could win the east after they 'lose impressively'
1. You can't spell. 2. I agree that 18 points is way too high, but after the way UT played against OU it's understandable. 3. Get Heath Shuler off the Dish commercial.
Finally no listening to Mizzou whine about a lack of respect.
A win against Toledo is not a 'good win' its a win. A win against a major team is a good win. Last season y'all snuck in because Carolina choked as always and UGA and FL had their own problems. Y'all are the worst fan base on SDS by far.
That's actually one of the best polls I've seen. I think Oklahoma could be ranked above Auburn/Georgia and Louisville should be 15. But those are just me being picky.
We get it. Mizzou never gets credit, but don't try and justify a win over South Dakota State. I would much rather stay under the radar than be put on a pedestal the way Georgia has. True fans know how good Mizzou can be.
We beat y'all last year at home. It will be the first win at Willy B in quite a while however
1. That was just good coaching to move everyone up in the box. 2. Ole miss was impressive on defense, but I would be scared if Bo Wallace was my QB. He is prone to make too many mistakes in big situations. 3. Until Ole Miss beats a power team, they don't deserve any more respect than what they've got so far.
Georgia has the number 19 strongest schedule in the country. I wouldn't call it favorable.
