Oh, so we're talking about vibes and personal feelings. My mistake. I thought you might've had some sort of checklist in mind for what makes a college campus and town attractive for recruits. Maybe a comparison or two. And here I thought SEC students' favorite pass time was drinking and watching sports. Silly me.
Wait a minute. You think having greenhouses on campus is a negative, but a tiny state park and one old bar are aren't? You do realize Auburn has a downtown, right? I'm not saying it compares to other places, but "worst in the SEC" is silly.
Just to clarify, I'm perfectly happy with Malzahn. I'm just curious why he wouldn't be in the conversation. I don't want him to leave. I was trying to be objective about his options, not dump on him for a few hiccups.
I don't think it's likely, either. I'm just curious why the author seems to think there's no chance of it happening. 1) He's an offensive minded coach who is familiar with the SEC, 2) He has almost two seasons as a head coach in the SEC west, 3) He made two trips to the BCS National Championship, and 4) If Auburn gets trampled by Bama in the Iron Bowl, it might be in his best interests to jump ship before becoming the next Gene Chizik. I'm not saying Malzahn would or should be fired if Auburn loses the Iron Bowl, but it wouldn't bode well for him going forward since this isn't a "rebuilding year" for the program.
I don't know. Is this article unfinished, or am I missing something?
Why is Malzahn a "no chance" for the UF job?
