UK had already clinched bowl eligibility when they played Louisville..that was their 7th win of the season
Umm, Boom Williams hasn't played a single snap on special teams this year SDS. I know you all don't give a d*mn about Kentucky, but can you at least pretend to. I think a team that's 2nd in the SEC East deserves that, I could be wrong.
"UK has already won two division games, two more than many thought it would." Hmm, that's some real heavy-hitting journalism right there I'll tell you what. Who in the h*ll thought Kentucky wouldn't get at least two conference wins this season? What a joke this little site is. Are you clowns at SDS (full of Tennessee, S. Carolina & Ark fans) still mad about how you predicted only 4 wins for Kentucky this season and they've already matched your little joke of a win total? Go sit in the corner you little idiotic hacks.
No Patrick Towles? Haha..that's all I can say..what a joke this little site has become. First they pick Kentucky to be terrible this year and finish with only 4 wins and now they don't even include the 6'5, 240-pound Towles, that Mel Kiper calls the 2nd-best QB in the conference, in their list of top-10 SEC QB's (which isn't exactly loaded at the position). What a joke this pathetic little site has become. They're loaded with 'writers' who are fans of South Carolina and Florida who Kentucky has now passed up who are grasping at straws to bring Kentucky down with every breath. Pathetic, pathetic little site. Don't worry. Towles will beat your little team soon enough, Eric Bolin.
This article is beyond idiotic. You're going to rank schools based on the percentage of applications that they accept, really? My God, you do know that some schools have large Student bodies. Hell, the average ACT scores for the Kentucky Freshman class now is a 27. Kentucky is well known to be one of the strongest academic institutions in the SEC, but you're going to rank schools based on how many people they accept? Lol, idiotic. So a school that accepts slightly more applications makes them worse? Umm, has this idiot ever considered that maybe certain institutions are getting a lot more qualified applicants than others or do they just throw darts at a board? That's about the dumbest metric ever used to measure something. Some of the best colleges in the country have the largest student bodies and accept a high percentage of their applications. You measure a university by where there academic programs rank and the number of scholars you have. Not by how many people graduate in 4 years. Have you ever considered that a tougher school is harder to graduate from? Kentucky is easily the 4th best academic institution behind Vandy, Georgia and Florida. This article and writer are a complete joke.
If this list doesn't include Patrick Towles (Mel Kiper's #2 QB in SEC & Top-10 QB nationally), Boom Williams (best all-purpose back in the SEC), AJ Stamps (one of the top safeties in the nation) & Josh Forrest (one of the top LB's in the nation), Austin MacGinnis (best kicker in the SEC) I'm completely giving up hope in this "SEC blog"..it's sad when a site that covers the SEC covers the ACTUAL entire conference in a worse manner than national publications who only spend a portion of their time covering it..the bias from this site shown toward a handful of teams based solely on their winning tradition from decades ago is beyond ridiculous
Bear Bryant knew what was up..Kentucky and Alabama..the two best states in the SEC, the two best fanbases in the SEC, and the two best schools that have carried the SEC for decades
Wouldn't go as far as calling UK-UT a trap..Kentucky has the better offense, better ST, defense is a toss-up and UK is playing at home..UK wins by 10-14 points..finally have enough depth this year where a bunch of true freshmen won't collapse at the end of the season..UK would've beaten UT last year if we played our A or B game, but we had the youngest team in the nation playing beat up..this year's team will be a whole lot more consistent and the depth is finally where it needs to be..we were playing with our arm tied behind our back past couple years, but this year's team will make a whole lot of noise and make a push for the East just like the first half of last season before our true frosh got worn down
Dude, you know nothing about Kentucky fans and what they'll be "focused on" during the biggest rivalry of the season you little tool
Boy..quality journalism right there..I tell you what..way to go out on a limb there chief..try not to get too mad when Kentucky spanks your lil Gamecocks YET AGAIN this year..we beat you last year and didn't even have our best player dressed for the game lol..try to at least put up a fight this year, it gets old spanking your little team, Brad
Wow..5 wins? Really? What a joke dude..this team was the worst blown call I've seen in my life away from 6 wins last year and Stoops says this year's team is SIGNIFICANTLY better than last year's, yet this year's team is going to win 5 games? Wow..that's all I can say, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised since this joke of a site ALWAYS plays it safe and UNDERESTIMATES Kentucky..it's the same site that predicted Kentucky to only go 3-9 (0-8) last season..thanks for the motivation fatty..I'll be sure and remind you when Kentucky is blowing your little half-cocked prediction out of the water, chump
Surprised that SDS noticed the guys UK picked up
I think it's going to be effin hilarious when Patrick Towles is at the top of this list at season's end..it's going to be so much fun to rub it in these little writer's faces..the only thing you have against him is that he's not named starter? If you follow this alleged "competition" at all you know that Towles is the guy and ALWAYS HAS BEEN the guy and that the only reason he's not named the starter in the offseason is to push him that much harder and keep Barker from transferring..heck, Boom Williams isn't named the starter at RB either..do you think he's the best RB on the team? Give me a break
I literally cannot wait until Kentucky starts lighting it up this year so all of these little writers and amateur prognosticators can eat their words..I'm making sure to save all of these little articles so I can be sure to bring them back up once Kentucky's offense is one of the tops in the league and the nation...WOW..I could understand not giving any love to UK's defense, but offense? NO way dude, you have maybe the best QB-RB combo in the league, one of the top 7 or 8 o-lines in the league, maybe the best WR corps in the league top-to bottom, maybe the best trio of RB's in the league, and you top it all off by bringing in West Virginia's offensive coordinator who just said that UK's depth on offense is THE BEST HE'S EVER BEEN AROUND, and that QB Patric Towles has THE BEST ARM HE'S EVER BEEN AROUND, yet you don't even think UK will be in the top-5 in a league that's not exactly known for big time offenses? WOW, all I can say is WOW..I cannot wait until you idiots start eating your words
WOW..all I can say is WOW..if you don't think Kentucky's going to be in the top-5 in ANY of those categories you mentioned then all I can say is WOW
The fact that SDS doesn't have Towles in that little graphic of the top-5 QB's in the league is pathetic..you have him ranked 7th because he's not named the starter? Guess what? Boom Williams isn't named our starter at RB either..Stoops is still pushing these guys to work..Mel Kiper and NFL scouts all have Towles ranked one of the top 10 QB's in the NATION, and the 2nd-best in the SEC AT WORST, and you idiots have him ranked 7th in the SEC? WOW, that's all I can say is WOW
There are only 2 things that could keep Boom from 1,000..1) injury 2) the fact that UK possibly has the best trio of backs in the league (Boom, JoJo, Horton) and carries will be divided up quite a bit
Gosh..you know that little punk writer Christopher Smith has to hate that Kentucky got a top-25 vote and Vanderbilt didn't..he keeps saying how Vanderbilt is just as good as Kentucky and how Kentucky is an automatic 'W' on the schedule..maybe you should call that coach and ask him what he's doing Chris, explain to him how Kentucky is a pushover and automatic win on the same level as Vandy lol idiot
Had offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Miami, Nebraska
Who thinks Christopher Smith is the worst "writer" for SaturdayDownSouth? This guy really thinks that Vanderbilt is better than Kentucky, seriously..he really does..he thinks a Kentucky team that was a blown call at Florida away from being in a bowl is a "gimme"..hey Chris..did you even watch Kentucky play last year? Do you realize that our head coach just said that we're going to be "significantly" improved this year from a team that was two plays away from having 7 wins? Tell me, what about that tells you "easy win"? Why don't you ask the #1 team in the nation how much of an "easy win" Kentucky was last year when they were one play away from being beaten by them. Why don't you ask South Carolina how easy of a win Kentucky is. Go ask the defending SEC East champ how easy Kentucky was to beat. Give me a break dude..you're a joke of a writer, and Kentucky is going to make you eat each and every one of your pathetic, ill-informed, little words this season..and I'm going to make sure you get reminded of them every single day. I'm bookmarking every single one of these little articles where you take cheap shots at Kentucky and lump them into the same boat as Vanderbilt, you little punk..try not to lose anymore hair while Kentucky makes you eat your words this year
Dude, if you're putting Kentucky in the same boat as Vandy as some kind of "easy win" then you obviously haven't watched either team play last year, and haven't seen how improved Kentucky was last year and how they're going to be even better this year..I literally cannot wait until Kentucky starts winning big games this year and shuts IDIOTS like this dumb, idiotic, ill-informed writer up and makes them eat their words..you're a disgrace
If Tennessee or Arkansas had brought in three 4-stars in one day SDS would have this article on the front page with a big write up..but since it's their least favorite school they write two sentences and slap it on the back page..who cares that Kentucky just had their best one-day recruiting haul in program history? I'd rather write about what Butch Jones ordered at McDonald's this morning And to the guy that says "things are starting to look up"..guess what? This isn't the first great recruiting class Kentucky has brought in..things have been looking up for a couple years now chief
The East is going to regain the edge on the West this year..anyone whose watched the SEC for anytime at all knows that it comes and goes in cycles..the East is trending up, and the West is trending down with the teams at the top having question marks all over the place and brand new QB's ..the East has 4 of the SEC's top-6 QB's and it'll show in those close games..these East coaches have had to listen about how great the West is and they're going to be looking for revenge..there's a reason the SEC is a cyclical league..one side will build up and then the other side will build up to match them and overtake them, and it comes and goes back and forth
Kentucky just had three 4-star commits in one day..should we write an article? Nah..let's write about what Bret Bielema wore to McDonald's today
Kentucky just picked up another 4-star in DE James Hudson
The kid is raw right now, but he has a high ceiling and has been lighting it up at the 7-on-7's in Florida..going to be a 4-star before it's all said and done
Lol..these clowns act like the SEC West has always been completely dominant over the East..for like two decades the east completely controlled and dominated the SEC until Nick Saban showed up at Bama..for about 15 years straight the west didn't have anyone that could touch Florida, Tennessee and Georgia..the SEC is cyclical, the SEC east is clearly on the way back up and will be dominating the conference in no time, all it takes is removing Saban from the West (which will happen in the next few years) and the East will once again be the dominant division for another two decades...where were all of you idiots at whenever Spurrier, Fulmer and Richt were running this conference and the SEC West was lucky to have ONE team in the top-25? Haha..losers
The checkerboard is barely even noticeable really..it's nothing at all like Tennessee's..it's subtle..love everything about the stadium & field except for the fact that our genius AD decided to decrease the seating capacity
Of course you would call this kid a "3-star offensive tackle" you little punk. The guy is a 4-star on rivals and picked Kentucky over offers from Alabama (who you don't even mention)...along with that you don't even mention the fact that UK has what's maybe the strongest offensive line recruiting class in the country this year with 4-star center Drake Jackson, 4-star tackle Landon Young, 4-star tackle Tate Leavitt, 4-star tackle & Ohio State transfer Marcelys Jones, center Luke Fortner (the 5th-best center in the nation on rivals) Come on man! Enough is enough! Kentucky has landed 3 different offensive linemen in this class alone that had offers from Bama, yet you aren't going to put that on your front page?? This is getting beyond ridiculous man...Kentucky has commits from 3 Army All-Americans at this point, and you clowns still give this class hardly any mention or any credit for the remarkable job that Stoops is doing....you should be EMBARRASSED to call yourself an "SEC" website
No David Pollack? Come on..I like McElroy, but he's not on the level of Pollack just yet..Pollack is one of the top 3 or 4 college football analysts in America OVERALL..much less the SEC..he's now a staple on College Gameday, and has some of the most unbiased insights in America
