Few things to call out. My prediction of AU’s season is certainly not my hope as I hope they run the SEC. I actually like AU. I can’t defend Harbaugh’s interest in the Vikings, but let’s not pretend that Harsin wasn’t interested in going back to the Pacific NW either. Despite that he (Harbaugh) still ended up with a top 10 class according to 247. Let’s definitely not get into the debacle on the Plains at the end of the season. Bottom feeder status? 2020 aside (can’t we all agree to forget that year), Michigan won 19 games combined in 2018 and 2019. Yes, I definitely want to see more wins than that, but that’s hardly bottom feeder status. Once more I’ll say I like AU. My dad went there. I almost went there but was accepted at Michigan and went there since it’s a much better school. So again I hope AU has a great season although I don’t think they will. For the record I don’t think Michigan wins the B10 again either.
Not rooting against AU. I hope they do well. And I am worried about Michigan!
Not mocking AU. I actually like Auburn. My dad went there. That’s just my opinion that’s it’s going to be a long season, not my desire! I hope AU wins the SEC and smacks PSU around too.
I hope it’s not as bad as 2012. Now that was a long season. Guess the verdict is still out on Harsin.
Going to be a long season on the Plains.
I can’t speak for others think or thought, but I thought PSU was a great team before we played them. They went to Wisconsin and beat the Badgers, then dominated the reigning MAC champs. I realize that doesn’t make them the best team in the country, but those are two solid wins and now they have a 3rd solid win to add to their resume. This is a team that looks like it is no worse than 2nd best in the B1G.
I thought the same thing. That’s crazy.
Strong words from a Carolina chicken fan.
Great post. What a great game. I was going back and forth with my PSU buddy all night. Was a lot of fun. Clifford was sharp. His line gave him time to throw and when he had to run he kept his eyes downfield and made throws. Dotson is an athlete and playmaker. The run game needs some work though. D is tough. The fade on 4th and goal was a bad call. Should’ve given Bo the option to hand off to Tank or keep it himself. The trick play to start the 2nd half was a bad call too. We should’ve leaned more on Tank and Jarquez. SEC officiating is the worst. I’ve thought this for years and this was just another example. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a team only given 3 downs before. I think part of the confusion was due to the intentional grounding call on Clifford during that drive which was a bad call. Bo got away with one later, so another blown call (missed call). I thought the targeting call on McClain was another miss. I’ll also say I thought the spot on the 4th and 1 PSU went for was actually where his forward progress was stopped. I realize the whistle was blown a little later when the pile had moved forward, but I thought his forward progress was stopped. Either way the refs weren’t on the same page. Either spot the ball where the ball was when the whistle was blown or blow the whistle when forward progress is stopped.
This play and the one to start the 2nd half are the two calls I question. Some also questioned the call to kick a FG on 4th and 1 earlier, but in a close game like this I thought that was the right call. The problem with this call is we don’t have a receiver that can go up and get a 50/50 ball. Maybe if Seth Williams had stayed another year he could’ve pulled this one down. A better call would’ve been giving Bo the option to hand off to Tank or keep it himself. On the trick play call to start the 2nd half, Coach Harsin said they say something in film they thought they could take advantage of, but obviously PSU was ready for it. Even so I’m never a fan of giving the ball to someone who doesn’t normally handle the ball to do something other than catch and run. When Kobe saw the play wasn’t there and went from setting up for a pass to running the ball he didn’t tuck it away. It just wasn’t a good idea.
Interesting they can come up with any insults considering the cover up of the pedophile coach and investigation that nearly brought the death penalty to the program. I think if I were a State Pen, er Penn State, fan I would keep my mouth shut.
Had we lost to Bama we likely wouldn’t have been in the Outback Bowl and would have had an easier opponent, so we still could have finished 9-4. And why was the Iron Bowl a lucky win? Because Auburn had two pick 6s? So the ability to create turnovers and turn them into points is luck but everything else in football is skill and talent?
Congrats to the Lizards on beating UVA! Really challenging opponent.
Actually this shows the low bar of your life to comment on another team’s message board. Just remember your college lost to Auburn this year. Of course I’m using your college loosely as I’m sure like 90% of Bama fans you didn’t even set foot in a classroom at Bama. Shall I look for your reply on the Kentucky basketball message boards?
Same comment for UF. Auburn alumni make more money than Gator alumni. Sorry. Now get my coffee!
Auburn alumni make more money than UGA alumni, so be careful what you say. Go to Payscale and look it up if you don’t believe me.
That should work out pretty well for them as they’ll make more money. Sorry.
