Everyone: A&M's Offense sucks. Jimbo: I reject your reality and substitute my own!
Wait, what? Jimbo's all time end of year rankings average 10.8. If you exclude the 2 Winston years he averages 13.1. That's NOT in the same ballpark as Saban, but it's also not even the same ballpark as Chizik. Jimbo has a major issue with his ego, he also has been hanging on to the same offense for the past 7 years while every other team seems to be evolving with the times. He needs a reality check, he can't be the OC and HC at the same time and excel at either one much less both. He could do that in the ACC, but not the SEC. He can either keep doing both with mediocre results or he can man up and realize he needs to choose his focus to achieve greatness.
Not only did UNC win the game, but Mack Brown's squad ran the score up through the 2nd and 3rd quarters. They scored on 6 consecutive drives while keeping App St. scoreless. So in the 4th quarter Mack put in his backups to limit injuries and that's when App St. started scoring and closing that gap. One thing is for sure though, App St. has definately EARNED their "Giant Killer" reputation from historical performances, and that UNC game shows that they have real explosiveness and shouldn't be counted out even when down by 4 scores.
Logically that's not a stretch. Florida played a hell of a game, but barely won via an interception in the last seconds that could have easily been a completion and Utah would have won. Also, FL had home field advantage. And this is the coaches poll, so the fact that Utah's coaching crew are seasoned veterans compared to FL having a new coaching staff lends long term favoribility to Utah from a coaches perspetive. Florida's rank shouldn't be offensive when looked at in context.
The field storm was well worth it. Besides, the fine goes to the SEC scholarship fund, so some kid is getting free school for it.
