That was an embarrassing performance from Alabama…god knows how many sacks and a center that can’t even get the snap back. O well, I guess a Big10 team gets to win one every 15 years.
Nuss looked good. LSU got it done. Got to give credit to WI though, that was by far the best Big10 performance I have seen. They gave it all they had and exceeded expectations.
Vols looked very good. Nico had a great day. Lots of promise there. On the other side of the ball…how did Iowa win 10 games? They certainly upheld the Big10 tradition of egg laying.
Yes seriously and you should know better if you are in fact a SC fan. On the other hand since 2 of those six losses were by SC maybe you just have a narrow view. Fact is FSU played a horrid schedule. Squeaked by BC, Clemson, Miami, Florida and Louisville. We will know more tomorrow but my guess is MI is going to learn the lessons of OSU and Penn State. It is really simple the SEC has more of the best players and does a better job of developing them. Wins against BC or Indiana or Rutgers or NC State might be wins but they don’t make the winner better than teams playing a superior level of opposition. The SEC is not inherently better. They are better because they have more better players and that was illustrated in spades yesterday.
Agree the solution to all this is either cash, contracting or a combination. NFL players aren’t allowed to move teams every year because they are under contract. If we are going to pay college players and we should, there need to be contractual obligations.
And Georgia was missing 23 or so with 5 to 6 starters out. Yep there were players missing. Always are. Bottom line is UGA was the better team and better program yesterday.
BS…Georgia was the better team and better program. Best case if FSU had everyone they are maybe 40 points better and only lose by 20. On the other had GA was missing 23 players and 5 starters. At full strength we are 14+ points better.
Well 42 to 3 at half. Biggest lead ever in a NY6 game at half. Last years TCU performance is in danger of falling to second worse. Of course the narrative is FSU is short handed…GA is missing 23 players and 5 staters (Bowers, Mims, Monden, Dumas Johnson and Humphrey)
And Ole Miss was without 14 players. Of course one reason the SEC continually pounds the Big10 is depth…you don't have any. Psssttt…check the recruiting rankings.
So what is your excuse for Penn State? What I think we are seeing is Big10 defenses that are not at all what they are purported to be. Likely since Big10 offenses are well…offensive. OSU gets 3 points…seriously. Penn State has 17 as of now against Ole Miss, not the best defense around. My guess is MI wont crack 20 either.
Mizzu’s defense was very good last night. Offense got it done. I think we saw a Big10 theme that will repeat, as usual.
That is correct. My back of the envelope math says we still have to lose about 10 more players to get to 85.
Goodbye, good riddance and enjoy the Poulan Weed Eater Bowl (assuming you can win 6 games in a year)
Michigan has a one of the best run defenses in the country…that is sort of like saying Cody Decker was a great hitter. He was in AAA. National Championship game was last week Bama won. I am sure Michigan will show improvement. Might score 14 points this time. Bama rolls 30 to 14. Take solace that is better than 34-11.
Georgia has no problem with the beat the best concept. We did it for the last 2 years. We didn’t this year and lost what was the de facto NC game. Now we see if Bama can do better than 34 to 11. My guess is probably not…maybe 34 to 14 though.
All that is true, but if it comes to a choice between AL and TX it will be really hard not to decide against the head to head (in AL) result. I think AL would handle TX today but head to head has to could for something.
So who do you see ranked below TN that would beat them? I see nobody. On the other hand we have Penn State..Ole Miss, OK, LSU and TN would likely take them to the woodshed.
I hope Stoops turned them down. Only bigger "pain in the butt" job in the SEC is Auburn.
Since the BCS era began in 1998 the ACC has won 4 NC. 2 each from Florida State and 2 from Clemson. On the other hand the SEC has won 15. 6 by Alabama, 3 by LSU, 2 by Georgia, 1 by Auburn, 2 by Florida and 1 by Tennessee. Now which conference is the “fraud”?
Really what is it about Big 10? THE Game? THE Ohio State University? More like a game against a university from Ohio won by a team from Michigan that will be lucky to stay within 20 points of their CFP semi final opponent…well unless they draw TCU again, that was a close one.
Those are the semi final records. Happy to add finals for you mic08089…pssst it doesn’t help. SEC is 6 and 4 in the final. Of course 2 of those losses are to SEC teams. Big10 is 1 and 1. Of course both those are THE Ohio State University.
Yawn, CFP records SEC 10 - 1, Big10 2 - 6. Yep Ohio State played the game of their life against arguably Georgia's worst game of last season and lost by 3. On the other hand Michigan lost to TCU and we saw how close they were to Georgia. Only thing the Big10 may do better than the SEC is punt.
I agree and believe this is the de facto NC game (assuming only one will make the 4 team field). Reminds me of 2013. Hope this one turns out different for us.
I think Bama, A&M, Ole MIss and LSU take PSU to the woodshed.
My point exactly. PSU worked their butt off to beat the last place team in the SEC West 2 straight years. They are no better than a mid level SEC team.
Big 10 playoff record is 3 - 7. Last victory was in 20- 21 when Ohio State beat Clemson. All 3 playoff victories belong to Ohio State who has made 2 finals and won one. By contrast sec playoff record is 16 - 5 with one of those losses to another SEC team. The SEC has won 10 straight semi final games and 3 schools have won NC Alabama (6), Georgia (2) and LSU (1) Based on performance seems pretty clear which conference should get the benefit of the doubt. Having watched this years version of OSU and MI, I really think they are behind GA, AL, Oregon, FSU, and Washington. 2 of their 3 “big” wins are against Penn State who is at best a 500 team against a full SEC schedule. Really looking forward to 12 team playoffs. There will consistently be 3 or 4 SEC teams involved.
