Lane Kiffin, like most Head Coaches at major schools, is an ego maniac. What drives him the most now is that he wants to beat Saban. he knows that the best place to be for that is Auburn. It's what drives him and it is what drives us on most days. I say, offer him $9 Million per year with a $1 Million bonus when he beats Bama. Give him the money he needs to hire great assistants. Plus give him all the NIL money he needs to get the best players. If our school leaders and boosters want to win Championships, they need to open the wallets. Money talks.

Anyone that watched that game realized there was a different energy. We saw it last year vs Alabama, but Harsin did not inspire the players. Much has been made of Coach Williams being Auburn's first black head coach. that didn't enter my mind until the press made a big deal about it. When I first heard the news, my thought immediately went to the fact that he earned the job. I also felt that he was the best choice because he would inspire the players who have worked so hard these past couple of years.

"Harsin will never get the chance to bring in “his guys” to the program." This is his 2nd year. Over half of "his guys" have left the program. He ran off the best player on the team. He fired his first offensive coordinator, and the second one quit as soon as he saw what was happening. His defensive coordinator took a job with a pay cut of $400k. Let's be honest. With few exceptions, we have a Boise State coaching staff trying to play in the SEC. This was an experiment that went terribly wrong. And now we are experimenting with a new AD that Miss St was trying to find a way to fire. The whole thing is embarrassing. Our players, our community, our university, and our fans deserve better. God bless the players that are sticking around and still laying it on the line every day.

I will be a Tiger until I die. But it is so hard to watch this year. These are the type of comments you hear from head coaches that are about to be fired. If he is fired midseason, who will be the interim coach? His 2 coordinators came from Boise State. They would be no different. Our players, who have shown no quit (excluding, of course those that jumped ship before this season), deserve better.
