I think every GA and Auburn fan with a brain would tell you it doesn't matter right now, it'll play itself out. If both teams lose to Bama, then a discussion of 2 loss GA vs. 3 loss Auburn is necessary as it might determine which teams gets the Orange/Cotton Bowl and who gets relegated to the citrUT bowl (sarcasm, but i'll never pass on a Spurrier-UT reference).
Undefeated with wins over multiple top 25 teams and arguably the best win in all of college football but yet still the same notion of "If Georgia is for real as a national title contender, we’ll know it after this game." You have to be kidding right? I've read just about that same sentence every single week this year, you guys keep repeating the same thing. What do they have to do to get passed that? Beat the Patriots coached by Jesus riding on a unicorn?
Can we hit the brakes a little bit on this? There's been plenty of coaches who've killed it early in their stay then got let go a few years later (Muschamp at UF, Chizik at Auburn to name a couple). Us Dawg fans have been getting our hopes up for a long time and those scars don't heal easily.
Look, there's plenty of arguments for the loser of the SECCG not making the playoff, that isn't one of them. So by his logic, Bama and UGA have to essentially play 3 playoff games, why would you not the same thing about the PSU/OSU we just saw, why isn't that a "playoff game"? Why isn't OSU losing by 15 on it's home field a "playoff game"? It's because the regular season is not the playoff. He also just talked about wanting the four best teams no matter what and not wanting any qualifiers as he qualified out the loser of the SECCG. If you've watched football this season and don't think UGA and Bama are two of the top four teams in the country, you're delusional and/or an Ohio State fan.
I'm sorry but "good first step"? Really? People said the same thing when we played Notre Dame. Then MSU. Then Tenn. How long are you going to try and push the same narrative each week? What does this team have to do so that we can avoid reading this same article each week?
I'm surprised Georgia vs Notre Dame wasn't on this list.
