As the offensive line has improved ..the QB has improved. College Qbs rarely do well when running for their life like AU Qbs have done for many years now. Folks tend to follow the ball when watching games and don't give the OL enough criticism or credit. Bo/Nix is the same QB as when at AU, yet his results are much different. He has an OL, WRs and plays against much easier defenses.
I have no doubt that CBH will try to do it his way, which will resemble Tubs way. Seems that (if successful) this will take time. Not sure that AU is willing to wait for this to happen. If we do wait and it works out, it could be as good as Dabo at Clemson. If not, we could end up a disjointed dumpster fire like UTk. No matter what ... we need OL at AU .. and now! Gus could not get the good ones to come or develop them. So far CBH has done no better. That has to change now.
A 3* Db that was recruited by the previous HC de-committing is not an issue. Not having a bunch of OL commits is a huge issue. Only having 5 err ..now 4 commits is beyond a mild concern.
Although Mr. Fair hung out at UAB, he still doesn't understand the SEC. Rarely does it work out for a player to put a target on his jersey.
No way that I could get through Negan's post. Probably some of his info is correct, but no way all of it is. I will say this. My friend's daughter was a sorority sister of Saban's daughter and kept her distance. For a while we were getting lengthy monthly recaps of CNS's daughter's nasty behavior and it matches some of the stuff Negen said.
Gator Phil is right. I've listened to the show plenty of times. Although not as bad as when Paul was in Bham ....he's still the Jerry Springer of CFB. Paul can't even talk Xs, Os or player specific abilities, but he sure can engage in worthless gossip and speculate on the bidness of CFB. There is usually one bright spot interview in the entire show, so listen to that and then turn it off.
Don't care to see photos of sweaty, angry or super serious players crossing their arms or pointing at me trying to look like they got a tuff attitude. Get it the huddle and let your playing speak for you. All of that Leroy Neiman knockoff art distracts from the name of the institution and increases the yawn factor. At least with the simple cover, I can more quickly get to the info ....assuming that I cared to.
