Why don't they put the semi-finals on Jan 1 like this past year and push the National Championship out to the 14th?
And actually this weekend was a playoff for the Big 10 too, it's just that Wisconsin lost. If they'd won, they'd have been in too.
I'm also against expanding to 8. Don't people realize that this weekend was essentially a playoff too? At least for SEC, ACC, and Big 12, and I would think in a typical year for a fourth conference as well. That's a lot to ask to play in a conference championship, quarterfinal, and semifinal all before getting to a national title game. Sort of devalues the regular season. If they HAVE to expand, they should expand to 6, with #1 and #2 getting a bye. Still prefer 4 though.
Completely agree. Although I understand why it was difficult for a program like theirs to accept a 4-8 season, I think he would’ve turned it around. He’s a much better recruiter than Mac and a passionate coach.
Yes UF won the division two years in a row, but it wasn't pretty at any point (except for when Grier was on the team). It was more a product of the East being inept - UF was just the least inept. McElwain should get credit for that, but it's painful to watch their games and doesn't seem like things are improving.
Agreed that there has to be more to it. Hopefully more info will come out
A&M is also a possibility - not because Sumlin deserves it (they've had a decent/good year) but those boosters seem to want him out. One unexpected loss before the end of the year and he's easily on the hot seat.
Glad you didn't say 2017... gotta give them time
Actually, game of the week is at 8pm on CBS - Bama/LSU
Ugh, not happy that it's a Monday game either. Would rather do Saturday or even LDW Sunday.
Yes, he went to a much less competitive conference (at least at that time) with easier match-ups. Less competition = less stress
Doubt it's sarcasm because he's right. Last year was ugly, we just had a favorable schedule so our record disguised it. Georgia has a couple rebuilding years before Kirby will (hopefully) turn it around
UGA has always recruited well under Mark Richt - just hasn't translated to results on the field
Good list! The top 10 are all great towns
Academically according to US News & World Report.... (1) Vandy, (2) Florida, (3) Georgia, (4) Texas A&M, (5) Bama. Both are good schools, but Bama fans clearly shouldn't be trash talking UGA academics
I've long thought those were trashy chants. Good riddance
