Not taking anything away from Nabers and Burden leads the NCAA in every statistical category except TDs. It's ignorant to gauge the best WR on TDs and total yards alone.
You have to look beyond the most obvious stats. Per pff.com Burden leads the NCAA in receiving grade, yards after catch, and receiving yards. He leads all Power 5 WRs in yards after contact and missed tackles forced.
An argument can be made that Robert Horry is better then MJ because he has more rings. You have to look beyond the most obvious stats. Per pff.com Burden leads the NCAA in receiving grade, yards after catch, and receiving yards. He leads all Power 5 WRs in yards after contact and missed tackles forced. Burden is currently the best WR in the NCAA.
Both running back ran well and it’s obvious both are going to be used throughout the season. Re the offense, run the offense you’re going to use throughout the season. The defense showed different looks and schemes, why wouldn’t the offense? Receivers couldn’t get open against an fcs defense? It’s not like the Tigers are going to catch kstate by surprise by playing a “vanilla” offense now and trying to implement something more robust in week 3. I think the problem is Cook can’t do much more than what he did last night.
Cook did make some smart decisions, went through his progressions well, and he did look comfortable. That said, he had some bad throws that thankfully didn’t cost the Tigers and his arm talent is lacking. It’s unfortunate that “he’s the guy” and that this coaching staff hasn’t been able to develop a quality qb in 4 years.
This win instilled zero hope for me that the Tigers will win any more than 6 games. Cook may be the more prepared qb, but Horn wasn’t given a fair chance. Cook looked more poised and I wonder if Horn couldn’t have gotten more comfortable if given more snaps. It was obvious that Horn has significantly more arm talent. Re the vanilla plays, it makes no sense to me to show a vanilla offense until more meaningful games. I feel like the same comments were made the past couple of seasons after the first game, and look what we got. Play the offense you’re going to rely on throughout the season. I know it’s only one game, and I hope I’m proved wrong, but this team does not look improved from last season.
My heart tells me it’s possible for MIZZOU to be 5-0 and they’ve broken my heart too many times over the years. I don’t think anyone really knows what to expect from this team. I’m pessimistically optimistic…
I like the premise of this article and think the 5 games are spot on, except I think k-state is the most pivotal. Beating the wildcats of kansas sets the stage for a 5-0 start and a number next to ol’MIZZOU’s name heading into a matchup with LSU.
DB and dont mistaken media hype for a good or even mediocre team. Luckily for all of us they actually play the games. I'll give the vols the OU game but the rest of the non conference slate isnt any tougher then who MIZZOU plays. Additionally, I would contend that a team has to be better then mediocre to make the SECCG two years in a row (not bragging so settle down folks, just a statement of fact) even out of the "high on crack east". I think we can say that MIZZOU has at least been adequate... I will however continue to laugh at some of the moronic and ridiculous comments and "insight" posted on here, like yours and even those from some MIZZOU fans.
Maybe some MIZZOU fans have "bragged" about winning the SEC East but I would contend that argument has come to combat those who claim MIZZOU is not that good. I understand luck and scheduling go into winning but something has to be said about the quality of a team to make it to back to back SECCG even out of the lowly East. That said, the end game and sole goal is to win a SECCG and to you're point MIZZOU has not yet accomplished that feat. I however will be happy for and proud of my Tigers for their success thus far in the SEC. M I Z
Forgot to mention they also shut down Darren McFadden and Arkansas in route to a Cotton Bowl championship
Kellen Winslow or Justin Smith
Hmmm...not certain about that Sam Houston claim, you might want to fact check your intel.
You forgot the media, also I doubt Wolfman plays for MIZZOU so please refrain from using 'you' as if he participated in either referenced game. MIZ
You forgot the media, also don't believe Wolfman plays
Blah blah blah, could ga fans be more sad, bitter and pathetic? Feels like being back in the big 12 and having to deal with ku fans.
THIS MUST HAS SUCK TO BE A ut FAN. Grammar
Hmmmm...it seems what I originally posted was lost on you when I stated I'm not looking to jump on the no respect bandwagon. I don't need or want your respect and I doubt the MIZZOU players do either. How does it feel to know that ga making the SEC champ game is out of your teams control and hinges on the performance of a team that lost to Indiana and you beat by 34?
While maybe bizarre, there should be nothing baffling about the two onside kick attempts against MIZZOU. Refs made entirely correct call in both instances. Not to jump on the woe is me, can't get any respect bandwagon other MIZZOU fans seem to be riding but including this example in the story seems to be an attempt to explain away MIZZOU's W due to poor officiating.
Its Chase Daniel, no need to add an 's' to his name. Chase Daniels is an individual who may or may not exist but who definitely did not play QB for MIZZOU
