He has a point...Yes, this weekend will either justify State's ranking or not. However, the initial disrespect for Arkansas is obvious. They beat #7 A&M, #15 Texas, lost to #2 Georgia, 1 point loss to #12 ole miss, and loss to Auburn but beat them all over the field except where it matters, the score board. Now compare those losses to Memphis, LSU, and BARELY getting by LA Tech. If all that the voters could see were the records, Arkansas is in and Miss State is out. I get it though...Arkansas was the worst team in the FBS for 2 years under Chad Morris and those years are still effecting the perception of Arkansas football.
SDS is a joke. Losing More and more credibility with each article published. Drew Morgen, Lead the sec is TD receptions and is somehow left off of this list? I used to like SDS and read quite a bit of their stuff, but now all I hear and read about them is how bad and way off they are.
Alex Collins definitely should have made this list. Anyone who thinks otherwise didn't watch the game. Period. If you watched the game and saw some of his runs, he would be on this list.
Only that a&m isn't playing in the liberty bowl as all of the memes suggest
Brandon Allen is a better Pro Style QB than Dak. That's why he is on the 1st team.
Why?? Because Henry is on 2nd team?? Behind Fornette? You have to see where that could go either way.
Ole miss did not have that game won. see my comment below. ole miss was lucky it went to OT! I watched the game not giving a flying f*&% who won. Arkansas missed 4 sacks ON 3RD DOWN! They probably would of won by 28 if they make those plays! And no one can say otherwise bc ole miss didn't stop Arkansas all night long so who's to say they would of stopped them on any of the "should of been" Arkansas possessions??
I disagree that ole miss is better than Arkansas. This coming from a neutral prospective...Arkansas missed 6 sacks against ole miss, 4 of which were on 3rd down. Ole miss went on to score on all of the missed 3rd down sacks. If they make those plays (just the ones on 3rd down) Arkansas probably wins by 28 points. Ole miss wasn't even coming close to stopping Arkansas all night. Even if they did stop them on a couple of the would be Arkansas possessions, Arkansas still wins by 14-21. Ole miss was lucky the game went to OT. Arkansas's d-line had not been getting any penetration all season long and they were finally getting through against ole miss. I think they were actually surprised they were in the backfield and just missing because they made those plays the rest of the season. just see the very next week against LSU...Arky had 5 or 6 sacks. Roll Tide.
Arkansas missed 6 easy sacks against ole miss. 4 of which were on 3rd downs! Ole miss was lucky the game even went to OT! Ole miss wasn't stopping Arkansas at all! Arkansas wins by 28 if they made the sacks the should of made.
No. It's not. Considering that they blew the Toledo, a&m, and miss state games. They could easily (should be) 10-2. So considering that, this season is a disappointment. I was happy that they finished strong but it could of been a whole lot better.
Everyone keeps saying Arkansas got lucky to beat ole miss...I am not denying the lateral was a lucky play however, Arkansas flat out missed 6 sacks, 4 of which were on 3rd downs! Ole miss went on to score on all 4 of those! Ole miss wasn't not stopping Arkansas at all! They probably would of scored on all 4 of the "should be stops"! So the way I look at it is ole miss is lucky the game went to over time.
Fiftyishstudent....man MSU got lucky as hell to beat Arkansas and everyone in the country knows it! The ONLY reason Arky didn't get the W is bc of them not executing a basic chip shot field goal. They should of went for the TD instead of settling for the FG IMO.
@christopher @csmithSDS everyone keeps saying Arkansas got lucky to beat ole miss...yes, the lateral play was lucky, however, Arkansas missed 6 easy sacks. 4 of which were on 3rd downs and ole miss scored a few plays later on I think all of them. Ole miss didn't stop Arkansas all night so if Arkansas makes those sacks, they win big! If they just make 1 of them, it probably doesn't go to OT. Not to mention that ole miss had to block a pretty routine field goal to get it to OT.
Randy Capps is not going to reply because he was obviously talking out of his a$$. He does not have a clue what he is talking about.
typo **lost in regulation NOT loin in regulation
when did ole miss stop Arkansas? Arkansas had several easy sack opportunities on 3rd downs that should of got their defense off of the field only to see ole miss score a few plays later. AND ole miss had to block a field goal just to get to over time. pretty sure the reporter that wrote this has no clue what he was writing about.
@randy capps....where do you get that Arkansas should of loin regulation to ole miss?? You are either an ole miss fan or ignorant. Ole miss was lucky that the game made it past regulation. how many times did ole miss get bailed out by poor tackling from the razorbacks? how many 3rd downs was Arkansas in the ole miss backfield with should be easy sack opportunities only to miss giving ole miss another opportunity to score as a gift (which most of the times they did). ole miss was not stopping Arkansas at all. oh yeah...and ole miss also had to block a field goal to get it to over time. so like I said, you are either an ole miss fan, ignorant, or you didn't watch the game. either way you are talking out of you a$$.
Why does that matter? They are 4-4 but not at all bc of him. The thing is they are once again just a couple plays away from being 6-2. If not for unnecessary penalties they would be 6-2.
Funny how everyone wants to say "what if" this and that for auburn but no one says anything about the blatant holds that didn't get called the last minute of the game. Both no calls were so obvious that my blind grandma would of seen. Detrick wise was bear hugged twice. Once on the fumble that was over turned (which was also BS) and the other on the play that set up the last second field goal. The auburn o-lineman had one arm wrapped completely around him and holding on to his shoulder pads with the other. Like a horse collar tackle.
@ Brad Crawford...Pretty poor excuse for an article. The flag was warranted. The flop may have been unnecessary but the flag was deserved. I would be embarrassed to publish an article like this...
Brad Crawford...How can you tell Robinson didn't touch him? Looks like he did to me! I do think Bielema exaggerated it a bit but so does everyone else! And pretty sure bama gets more than their share of "questionable' calls go their way in T-town.
It would of been the same distance as an extra point! Stupid call! They had Hunter Henry wide open in the end zone on he play before and Brando Allen over threw him. That's when they should of gotten the TD.
There were several big penalties uncalled in A&M's favor and there were several big plays that got called that clearly should not have against Arkansas. But again, for the 2nd year in a row, Arkansas hands the Win to a&m on a silver platter!
Not if they weren't on the field! The aggies couldn't stop Arkansas either.
There is a difference in an official making a mistake and officials who continually call bogus calls one way and not calling SH!T the other way. The commentators talked about it all night! they called a couple "holding" calls that didn't happen, they called a false start against Arkansas when there was an A&M D-lineman 2 yards across the line of scrimmage before the Arkansas lineman flinched! Then there were several clear holds against A&M that was not called. One play Arkansas defensive end was pulled to the ground and the ref was staring right at him. and it just happened to be on a 63 yard pass play. And it always seemed to happen when Arkansas was driving and starting to threat. A&M couldn't stop them so the refs did. If the refs are blowing calls on both sides, it would be different. They were not consistent at all and anyone who says otherwise are delusional!
And all Arkansas had to do to beat OSU in that Sugar Bowl game was "scoop and score" on that blocked punt. He could of literally walked into the end zone but for whatever reason he fell on the ball.
like rag dolls?? osu is like 1-50 against SEC teams.. come on now..
@stupiddumb, ohio states OOC schedule is tougher than conf play! you have absolutely ZERO argument comparing that piss ant schedule to ANY SEC schedule! Your just being stupid and dumb, stupiddumb!
