This isnt you daddy's Auburn where they run the ball 50 times. Auburn is going to open the offense up under Freeze and this kid wants to be a part of it. Dudes want top play with dudes and AU's receiver class features some dudes.
He hasnt been here for a Bama game yet. Play well and get the lead and watch the stadium explode.
It’s good to see the open receivers not being overthrown. I get it. It’s Samford. But they have a potent offense in the FCS. Probably come out 0-3 in the next 3 games, but Georgia at home will be Beck’s first road game. Auburn fans will be in full force. A good showing will go a long way towards recruiting for the future.
Thorn was 9-14 for 94 yards. He looked good on the last scoring drive going 4-5. He needs more reps.
I will be willing to bet that Auburn....who plays a much harder schedule than the Vols....will have a better record than the Vols.
Just a question....what pie in the sky coach were you hoping to get when Harsin was hired? Bob Stoops? Urban Meyer? Steve Spurier? I think we will be just fina if everyone will get behind Harsin.
I agree. We are changing a culture and the soft players are not enjoying the ride. Harsin might be abrasive, but he knows what he’s doing. And all the coaches are t leaving. Some got fired.
Our defensive talent is way ahead of Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miss St & LSU. We will be fine this year. However, recruiting needs to pick up on the O line....and it will. These guys take time to recruit and talk is we are making connections for the 2023 class of lineman. It looks like a dumpster fire and perception is reality. But, if we look good on the field and win 9 games, people will settle down. Ole Miss lost more players in the portal than we did. Alabama lost 3 less. We will be fine.
Absolutely. He didnt exactly walk in to a great situation....its not like Auburn was 1 player away from a great team. 7 or 8 better throws and Auburn won 9 games. The O line was built for Gus's offense. It takes time to retool your body to be a run based team. 4 returning starters who have all started 2 years together will be huge this year. One more year of strength & conditioning will pay dividends.
I'm with you on this. All the changes going on in the NFL might mean he gets an OC job offer soon. Although, 2 years as OC at Auburn would have probably guaranteed that....
I see a lot of similarities. Auburn was actually in a better position overall than were Alabama was. The difference is on the O line and at QB. Auburn is better off everywhere else. In 08, Alabama brought in the top class...including top O lineman and Julio Jones. Auburn is still struggling to get that top O Lineman, WR & QB. That will be the difference in the two year comparison.
Jimbo does less with more than any other coach. I expect another 8-4 or 9-3 season.
No way the freshman comes in and takes the job. Davis is very talented. He broke all of Kyler Murray's records and he played at the highest level of high school football. I expect Auburn to bring in a portal QB....I'm hearing Kedon Slovis from USC. He will be brought in to foster competition in that room. The best man will play....but It wont be Gernier. Yet.
I don’t think the issue was Harsin. Pat wanted assurances that Bo would be the starter and that AU would not go after another transfer QB. May or may not be true, but that’s the rumor.
If we are going to compete, we need O Lineman. We got one. Hopefulley we get 3 or 4 more during 2nd signing period and transfer portal. Its widely speculated that "Thanos" Mbaa is silently committed to Auburn and asked the coaches not to publicly reveal it so they can do that in his country on the 19th. If Tae Woodey signs in february along with Caden Story, we should be well on our way.
Let see....win 7 games a year, be competitive in all games. Get a contract extension and a raise. OR, win 9 games a year, be competitive in all games. Get fired. No thanks.
Go back and watch the games...especially the Georgia St game. Several times we had 10 men on the field on Offense....and the one missing??? A receiver. They either hurried on the field or we didnt play with 11. Thats been a problem....apparently. Become an insider @thewarrapport and watch the film with them. Its not hard to see what the problems are....and they are correctable.
Well....your defense looked awful. Yall are very beatable this year. Id be careful whit I say.....crow doesnt taste very good. Ole Miss will hang 50 on that defense. Good thing they dont have a quality defense. Auburn will be rocking when the tide comes to town. Dont think that Auburn cant beat them at home.
Well….in the past, Gus always played down to the competition. Harsin put his foot on their throats and never let up till it was over by half. There was no in game suspense. They looked like a well coached team. I expect recruits took notice.
I’d be careful with the comments. You’re all world QB looked very average. A good offense will be a hard out for the Dawgs.
Not sure why you think Harsin is a weak recruiter. Out of 11 recruits, 7 are 4 star talents. He is meticulous in evaluation. Truesdale had some issues that got him demoted. Good luck to him. I expect a good product on the field. Once recruits see it, the recruiting will pick up. Every SEC team ahead of Auburn has way more commits, but most have less total points per player. I’d say we are doing ok.
How do you know he's not vaccinated? He didn't state that in his interview. As a matter of fact, he went out of his way NOT to talk about who is and who isn't vaccinated. And is there really any coach more boring than Kirby Smart?
I think you are selling the defense short or you only read headlines. Those of us that keep up with the program know we have a stout defense. The secondary is stacked 2 deep. The top returning LBacker in the country and the 4th leading backer are in AU’s defense. Our defense is going to be elite. The QB only has to be serviceable. If it’s not Nix, it’s Finley or Davis
I will trade Truesdale for Fair any day.
No….your O line was really good. They pushed AU around last year. Your problem was your idiot coach didn’t understand he was running all over us and felt the need for your equally dumb QB to throw it.
You mean like your all world team of the century did in 2019? Or maybe 2020? Auburn will have one of the top defenses in the SEC this year….right ahead of LSU and just behind Bama.
No way Arkansas finishes ahead of LSSU, Auburn or Ole Miss. Alabama LSU A&M Auburn Ole Miss Miss State Arkansas I think Arkansas will be much better this year, but so will everyone else. Arkansas has no proven QB.
For those who arent around the program.....Jeremy Johnson was the best practice player in the country. Even Herbstreit said he was the real deal. In a half against Arkansas in his first start, he was fantastic. Problem with Jeremy was his inability to read a defense and put mistakes behind him. One mistake became several in a row. And in the SEC, 1 interception can be a game killer. 3 is a season killer. Great kid. But, that one isnt on Malzahn.
You act like Georgia is a 5 star factory. They are not. They have a few. They dont reload. They will have to fight for every quality win they get this year. New QB, new RB, new co ordinator, hope they have it figured out by game 5 or 6. Ass whoopin in Tuscaloosa, and still the weakest schedule in the East....as always.
And Georgia beat.....Florida. Got run out of the stadium trying to duplicate Auburn's defense. Wont be much better this year either. Probably dont beat Florida....wont beat LSU, Wont Beat Bama...and Auburn should have a QB that can hit an open receiver this year, so that game is a toss up. You know who Auburn doesnt lose to? South Carolina....ever. Kirby is no better than any other coach chasing Saban. No better than Jimbo, Coach O, Mullen, Gus, Leach. I will be shocked if he wins a championship at Georgia. All those great 5 star players and loses to....S Carolina. good luck this year. Youre gonna need all you can get.
