I have no delusions that UGA is even remotely close to being Bama. I got fired up because a UK fan was taking a cheap shot at UGA in football, which is totally ridiculous. Comparing UGA to UK in football as a bottom dweller is laughable. It would be closer to the truth to compare UK football to Vanderbilt than UGA. I don't talk sh*t about UGA. I can admit who we are. SEC championships DO matter (unless you're Alabama apparently). If they didn't, they wouldn't have the Championship game every year. I find it amusing that UK fans are now talking sh*t for doing something you haven't done since 1984 by winning your first 5 games. I do agree that winning makes a lot of people a-holes and I agree that I've also read UGA fans being a-holes, which I do not like. It's weird seeing UK fans joining the a-hole club, but I guess it's status quo for any fan base to overdo it when the things are going well. UK may very well win the east and play for the SEC Championship and then THEY can enjoy losing to Bama too.
I know that winning the SEC is not the same as winning the national championship. The point is that UK FOOTBALL fans can't laugh at ANYONE about a lack of championships when they have less than the team they are laughing at. A 2nd point is that UK football fans have been quiet and non-existent until now, 2018, until you win 5 straight games. As for NATIONAL championships, if we were to count them like Alabama does (when ANY publication called us such), we would actually have 5 (1927, 1942, 1946, 1968, 1980). Not much, but more than UK, which is the point. If you don't have more than the team you're razzing, then shut up. If you can beat us, which you might, talk away as you would have earned it (and you might). As for basketball, I wasn't the one who brought that in, but I admitted that UK is elite in basketball and that basketball and football are not equal and not worthy of comparison.
When was the last time Kentucky won the SEC? 1976 (co-champs)? 1950? How many times has Kentucky PLAYED in the SEC championship game? 0. Never (so far). Georgia has 13 SEC Championships and has played in the SEC Championship game 6 times, winning 3 times. Compared to Kentucky, Georgia IS elite in football. Compared to Alabama, no one else in the conference is elite in football. As for basketball, yes, Kentucky is elite. They are the face of the SEC just as Alabama is the face of the SEC in football. You posting on this page, putting Georgia down in football, is no different than if I went on a basketball page putting Kentucky down when I'm a Georgia alumni and fan. There's just no comparison and your put downs are PRETTY SAD LOL. By the way, you're welcome for the SEC revenue that UGA provides UK during football season since UK doesn't generate anything close to what UGA generates during football season. Football revenue is what fuels the conference. Not basketball.
Kentucky fans kill me. I've never seen them so vocal, posting on these blogs all of a sudden. It's amazing how winning a few games gives all fan bases an overblown sense of superiority. Yes, Kentucky is good. They are confident. They believe in themselves. But how good are they REALLY? The jury is still out until the end of the season as the conference is not won after 5 games. I don't make predictions as anyone can win on any given Saturday, but I do know that a Kentucky fan talking bad about Georgia fans is something that should only be done on a BASKETBALL page as they've earned the right. When Kentucky actually wins the SEC in FOOTBALL, THEN they can say whatever they like. Since Kentucky has never even won the SEC East (i.e., the weaker side of the conference) I don't understand all the arrogance.
