LOL!! I love these boards. You must be one of the following: 1) Dwight Schrute from The Office. 2) 12. 3) Drunk.
It'll be a good game. Great battle in the trenches on both sides. Dropping your HC and OC mid-season usually creates a little dysfunction - If Mizzou didn't have a chance at the beginning of the season to win this game, they do now.
LOL! Not much of a coach? You are either a troll or ignorant of his record and accomplishments at LSU. Go do a google search then come back and tell me how smart you are about LSU football stats.
I don't think anyone expects Ole Miss to win this one. The hype on this game is completely media driven. I haven't talked to a single person who thinks this will be a good game. It might be - but if you are being honest, that would be a huge surprise to most. This is maybe in the top 10 games of the week....MAYBE. Game of the week is Florida State vs Louisville. Simple as that.
The teams are a pretty equal match-up and UGA won't be ranked once they get in to the bulk of their schedule. This game could go either way and it will depend on who shows up to play Saturday night. Make no mistake though, Mizzou will lose a close game this season because of their kicker. But even strong ranked teams lost close games because of shanked kicks. Losing is a team effort for the most part...with the exception being the kicker. You can look at a kicker and say "yeah, we lost cause you sucked it up on the 20 yard line at the end of the game."
Bingo. As much as college football programs are "family", at the end of the day it's a business. In the world of college football, if you are a great player, you get the raw end of the business deal. Not saying college players should be paid, but a guy with his talent should minimize his risks before he makes it to Sundays.
Brick by brick baby!!...When are the volz going to finish this construction project? It's going to be most beautiful brick toilet in all of tennessee I'm sure. #troll
Chris Black was a top recruit but hasn't been healthy the entire time he was at Alabama. I like the increasing depth for the run and pass game if the depth can stay healthy. The competition it creates in the pre-season is always helpful for player development. The way the super green o-line can perform will be the largest factor in my opinion.
Agreed. The o-line is extremely inexperienced - it's going to be hard to have a threat on the ground even if there is a decent amount of depth. A one point win is impossible if you can't get down the field to score a point. A pass game is crucial for us this year.
This would be a good move for both programs. Say what you will about the (ir)relevancy of the BIG12/SEC matchups, this was always a fun game for everyone in the student section. It would be a fan pleaser for both schools.
I won't address the lunacy of the top 90% of this article. I will say about the last sentence though: I'm curious how good Lock can be now that there is some structure and clear defined leadership at the QB post. Obviously a QB can't put up good numbers regardless of how good he is if there isn't a decent player to catch the ball. I don't have high hopes for Mizzou's pass game this season (and so that shuts down the potential of the run game as well). But I am hoping to be surprised too!
1) Yes it is 2) That's fine - I couldn't tell from this blog entry. 3) light analysis and no analysis are not the same - predictions require data usually (sarcasm here - they always require data) 4) I know 5) I'm right about almost everything.
I doubt JC really cares much about hating on Mizzou. That being said, this is still a hideous blog entry with zero analysis backed up with not a single statistic. Reading SDS is for the most part like watching TMZ - its entertaining, but not vetted by any actual research or expert analysis. JC could blog that Mizzou would go 12 - 0 and while it would be more fun to read as a fan, I would still know that he is a blogger that took an assignment to fill a quota and scribbled this article in under 60 seconds. In summary, this blog entry = pooooooooop....but JC isn't offended by that because he already knows that its poop.
