Well, 10 games in and it's 5-5. The final four games? Ole Miss vs. South Carolina, Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt, Missouri vs. Arkansas, and Georgia vs. Auburn. FPI favors the East team in three of four matchups.
Yeah, if Callaway is our biggest concern, I feel pretty good about winning every game. If the whole receiving corps improves, we're better off with or without him. And while it would be nice to know who the QB is, I think when they finally line up, we'll be in good hands no matter what. All three are better than last year's situation (Del Rio simply because he's healthy) and we'll have a legitimate backup, too.
Beaten like a drum out of conference? We're 12-6 vs. FBS teams so far. Of those six, LSU lost by 2, Auburn by 6, Kentucky by 9, and Ole Miss by 11 (to a top-3 team that just got 1st place votes). But no one would believe Kentucky was strong anyway and Missouri may have problems. The only inexplicable loss was MSU to South Alabama, and time will tell on that. Oh, and the other four Power-5 conferences all sport one loss to an FCS school, something the SEC hasn't done in its mere four games against FCS opponents.
Probably has something to do with that second tweet...
Wow. That's an incredible message he put out and a great example to set for anyone facing what he is facing. I really hope the best for him.
One thing working for Harris that he didn't have last year is that the rest of the offense is functioning at a higher level. Garcia's right: He'll have to make the reads. However, the rest of the offense does know what to do and he won't have to make up nearly as much on the fly.
I wonder whose papers he'll sign next year...
This looked like a good hire just based on the limited information I'd seen, but man, this looks like a really good hire from this article. He definitely has his work cut out for him, and I don't expect a huge swing next year (though he has a lot more to work with than he started with at CSU), but he appears to have what it takes to get us back on top.
Ah, no. There was a mess under the covers when Meyer left and Muschamp cleaned it up. The program is much more solid top-to-bottom than when he got here.
I listened to his press conference today - and cannot believe a word of this Nebraska report.
Run, Run, Run. Play this game like we did against Georgia and we win going away. No turnovers, and run, run, run. And let the defense finish them off in the second half. By the way, how can an undefeated FSU only be 7.5 favorites at home over a 6-4 Florida squad? That alone should tell you something...
Or we can pull for them to lose both games...
Just hoping they study tape of themselves to correct mistakes and of Florida to see how to stop Georgia...
Agreed. And you really need to know who you want to go after if you're going to fire the coach. I don't believe anyone decent is actually in play. But you know there will still be a camp of die-hard Muschamp-haters that will demand his firing on Monday following an SEC title game victory because he didn't win the way they wanted him to win.
I wondered about the rule book thing myself. Maybe they want to try to get it right... when they do catch it.
Been thinking maybe Randy Shannon. Head coaching experience, though there wasn't win/loss success at Miami, he seemed to clean up the program and get it on the right track. He could OWN the Miami recruiting area, and do well in the rest of the state. He's been in the SEC two years, though in the west, so he knows the conference culture. That said, I'd rather see an offensive-minded coach rather than another defensive-minded one.
