I'm going to disagree here. I think waiting a few weeks to start was the right move because of the students returning to campus. Especially since the SEC and Sankey was under so much scrutiny. Everyone was expecting Covid cases to spike on campuses when students came back, and they did to some degree. Get past that initial spike, let numbers start trending down again, and be golden when you line up to play. They probably could have gone a week or maybe two earlier, but I think Sankey was being cautious and giving as himself as much time as he could before he had to pull the plug if he needed to do that. Exactly the opposite of what the B1G did. Heck, some Pac12 region schools have already announced that their spring semester will be online only, 3-4 months ahead of time.
