TAMU -these 4 - 5 star players are acting as primadonnas - all about me and not the team. They're not playing as a team - Jimbo should see this
One game at a time - next up Kentucky. To quote Leach "Do your job each play" A mindset that State has fully adopted and I'm confident, this will continue to get stronger.
Too bad KJ wasn't healthy - the outcome most likely would've been a much closer game.
Jimbo needs an OC - I don't think he needs to go.
TAMU has signed a top 10 class each yr for the past 5. Referring to TAMU as a young team doesn't make sense - where are the sophomores and juniors from the top 10 recruits of the past?
GeauxTigers8: I'm State 100% but I have more respect for LSU than most in the SEC. I know what LSU is capable of and it is yet to be seen but it will. As for State, we're just beginning to hit stride which will greatly improve as time goes. My optimism says with State hitting stride and LSU still a bit finding itself, State will win by 4
I agree. The weird thing is: I for some reason forgot to wear my MSU hat. Once realized, I put it on the beginning of the 4th qtr and State started playing ball. You gotta wonder... I for sure will not forget to wear going forward.
What we need to remember: LaTech team was not the team from a year ago. The roster is filled w/ transfer portal players. LaTech QB played backup to Jalen(sp) Hurts at Oklahoma. It's almost like the movie "Money Ball". The combination of LaTech talent and State not prepared, lack of discipline and especially on the O line produced the results. LaTech will for sure win a lot of games this year. State has its work cut out for them come this next game w/ NCState. Assuming the errors of our ways are addressed this week, I'm confident we can take NCState. I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll get it together - Leach is too good of a coach to allow the foot shooting to continue. Positives: Rogers completed 83% of his passes w/ an average of 8 yards per reception (figures are rounded off). The running game was there and did keep the defense honest. The biggest negative is the O line - flat out missing blocks.
You're right and he'd be effective too. I say "Lets do it"
I say we use this weird ass season to learn no matter wins or losses. Get out there and learn and develop - get out there, play "loose as a goose" (Johnny Plummer quote) and have fun. Determine what is needed and recruit. First on my list of wants is a true dual threat QB. The AR offense with only about 26 plays which seems simple - it isn't: Each play is diverse and dynamic and to understand and be effective it takes much timing and rhythm. What a better way to handle the learning curve than to play against the best each and every week. Remember, there has been no development time for State so lets use this weird ass season / schedule to learn and develop. No excuse just the plain facts
You'll get no excuses here. Congrats on the win. I just hate it had to be State
Bottom Line: Hogs beat us and that's it. Hill or no Hill, Hogs were prepared and State was not. I am a State fan and also a realist. State must adapt and balance to ward off the 8 zone defenses. Lastly, State must get their minds right and play for the moment
Folks - It will be Egg Bowl ranked @ 1 and 2 - Kinda Pre-National Championship. Sunny beach, it can't get any better than this
Maybe it's me but I don't think State needs the Redzone - they just blow right through it w/out stopping. I guess you need to stop in the Redzone to up your percentage. having a little fun here.
