How is Tennessee 1998 football championship debatable? They were underfeated, ranked number 1, played Number 2 Florida State in the playoff and won. The writer is an idiot. Obviously he went to some journalism school.
She made field goals consistently over 35 yards in practice. Ignorance is a crime in posting!
You can suit up a certain amount of players. Learn rules before making ignorant comments like Howard. Think, red shirted players, walk ons, you might figure it out yourself, or, if you are a fan, Texas A&M 12th man.
Clemson and Notre Dame, and certainly The lol OSU are overrated. If top 6 played, each other Fl and Texas AM would beat anyone but Bama. BYU would be 6th
You don't believe in innocent until proven guilty obviously. You also assume a coach shouldn't be a players ally, obviously. You seem to feel a tennis coach shouldn't act like any business, and ask employees ( scholarship players) to not share information they might hear, when a former employee is gunning to sue for millions, obviously. Reality happen to cross your mind much? You would have a coach bench a player, without positive evidence of wrong doing, thus setting himself up for a lawsuit by jepardizing his future earning potential, in this case lots of millions of dollars, not a smart move, at all. I guess you are not aware of any such claims destroying young man's lives, which a school, and coaches are entrusted to lookout for, and assume USA today has all the facts, and no one is lying to them. How about allowing an investigation to happen, and not rush to judgement, that gets to the bottom of, what might be a he said, she said, and wants to earn a huge paycheck for, playout and happen. You might see nothing to see here, you might see what you have rushed to buy hook line and sinker, but the law of our country is still...Innocent until Proven Guilty. You way of thinking is exactly why it is such.
Hippa rules, and just plan tack, restricts a coach from discussing a player' health and recovery. Obviously, his recovery was of his first priority, followed by game readiness. I think starting or playing a not 100% healthy, zero division one playing experience vs Bama or FL would have been a good idea. Granted, Smart has been fine with a game manager QB in Fromm, while more talented QB talent sat and transferred, but, he won the job, got them to NC game. I think Smart deserves to not be second guest in a huge offensive rebuilding year. No need to rush to saying he is set in his ways, as if his ways have been anything, but a step higher in excellence. If Bama wasn't the log jam it has been, GA would have played in championship series quite a few more times. LSU was another road block. Srarting a hurt, hobbled, freshman QB wouldn't change that. The Kid has moxie, of course he thinks he was ready. Smart has his reasons, I am ok with his answer to question and holding his reasons close to the vest.
