What about the 1959 Ole Miss squad that gave up 1.9 points per game?
Meh, just glancing, I'd say Bielema shouldn't be that high. Miles, Richt, & Mullen should be higher. As for Freeze, I hope that in 10 years, he might be quite high on this list. So far, he hasn't accomplished enough yet to deserve #7. The rest, I'm OK where they're ranked....
Yeah, I'm sure Central & South Florida would've brought more coin to the conference this bowl season. You??
After reading through these, at least I finally understand the definition of "bias". Bias - When someone doesn't think your team &/or conference is the best ever.
Well, we all knew how level-headed the Bama fanbase is, right??
Not sure if Baylor is or isn't better than Ole Miss. I'll tell you one thing though. Baylor damn sure wouldn't score 61 on our defense.
What's even more sad is that this clown likely intended to say "integrated". So not only is he insensitive, but he's also a moron.
Haha, OK. He definitely tried to trip him, but he didn't manage to. Because it didn't affect Golson in any way, I don't really care that much. If a player tried to do it, I wouldn't be surprised, but a coach should be above that kind of thing.
Well, everyone mentioned the S.I. jinx last week & the Bulldogs pasted #2 Auburn while the Rebels whipped the Aggies out in College Station. Also, to answer your question, I believe State has a bye week, so I figure they'll win that one.....
Wow, when I first looked at our schedule, I figured folks would think it was one of the easiest in the SEC West. No such thing as an easy league schedule, but our OOC games are pretty weak.
I thought State had been doing this for awhile now? Still weird to practice cheering, but nonetheless, they didn't hack this off A&M yesterday. You maybe should've done a little research.
Winning a game has nothing to do with how awesome the Grove is. Gameday & then beating Alabama on CBS certainly helped to showcase it to the rest of the nation, but it just showed off what Ole Miss has always known. We have the best tailgating in the nation. That's not just Ole Miss fans saying that. It's also about a dozen publications that annually tout the Grove as the primary tailgating experience in the country. Sorry, but folks don't leave the Junction at State or the Quad at Bama & write stories about it in the New York Times or the Washington Post. Deal with it.....
I've had fun tailgating in Starkville, but let's be serious. The Junction ain't the Grove.....
As a graduate of Ole Miss, I'm partial to Oxford & the beautiful Ole Miss women. However, as many have mentioned, there are hot chicks at all the SEC campuses. I've been to Ole Miss games at every campus other than UF & South Carolina, and they've all had plenty of hot girls. Hotty Toddy, and God Bless beautiful women!
Pretty incredible, & yet depressing, that 15th in the entire country is only good enough for 5th our own division. Really speaks to the depth of the SEC West. Whomever represents the SEC West in the SEC Championship is likely the best team in the country even if they have a loss or 2. Doesn't mean I think they automatically make the playoff, just means I think they'll be better than the 4 that make it & had an easier path to the top 4. We shall see.
Pretty sure I'd feel nothing but sadness & shame if I pissed my pants.....
Dude, chill. Who cares? This is week-one poll on a website that writes about the SEC, & is essentially the opinion of about 10 dudes, who, BTW, are also just fans who get paid to write about what the rest of us talk about for free. Anyway, this looks pretty good to me based on week 1 games. I might swap A&M & Auburn. What A&M did was impressive. UGA too, but they did it in front of a home crowd. A&M went into a hostile environment & laid the wood on South Carolina. Impressive.
Wow, so I guess Jerry Palm doesn't think too much of Ole Miss. Liberty Bowl??
I don't know that I'd look at this as a "benefit" to the SEC. A player's season-ending injury is never a good thing, regardless of which team they play for. Not sure this was an article that needed to be written.
I'd throw Deuce McAllister in there, certainly above T.J. Yeldon. & Knowshon Moreno. His career stats match up with all these guys not name McFadden or Faulk.
So is this best case scenario, because the Gators aren't going 10-2. I'd say 8-4 would be a hell of a turn-around from last year. Expecting more than that is reaching.....
Although our depth is still a little thin in a few areas, our starting 11 on each side is sick.
He would do great as an analyst. He did well at the NC game last January. The sooner the better.....
Pretty cool design. I think I read somewhere that both Ole Miss & Boise St. will wear their home unis. They'll be in their royal blue & we'll be in red.
Agreed. Two very different skill sets. Lewis would be more comparable to a Desean Jackson, whereas Treadwell would be more comparable to an Andre Johnson. Two very different receivers, but each is very dangerous & productive.
Ummm, there are some pretty ridiculous comments by both fanbases (looking at you armyguy007). How about both of these guys are athletic freaks & both will likely have excellent college careers & will likely both go in the 1st round.
Coach O at Ole Miss in 2005 - 2007, where we won 11 games in 3 years, deserves to be on this list. Great D-line coach & terrific recruiter, but a terrible head coach. Still wish the guy the best after what he did at USC last year.....
