I graduated in '13, but lived in Oxford for 6 years. In the time that I was there, LSU was never as big of a deal as State. Yes, it was still a big rivalry, but nothing else really mattered at the end, as long as we could win the Egg Bowl. Yes, even the majority of the time when LSU was doing better than State.

That's what I love about the eggbowl. State (Or Ole Miss) could lose every game from here to there, and it would still be a great game. I would love if Ole Miss won, but I don't think there's really any reliable way to predict. Also, I see us both going to the playoffs regardless.
Never met an obnoxious State fan??? Not to be a hater man, but have you ever been to Starkville with those damn cowbells? That's got to be the most obnoxious tradition in the NCAA.
Furthermore, we could beat State and they'd still have a shot at the playoffs.
BEST STATE, huh? Currently, I would have to disagree. It's nice to see some states pulling together though rather than the typical rivalries.
