Approximately how many points is our Big 12 record versus A&M going to put on the scoreboard when we play the 6th ranked team in the country? I hope that it’s a lot because then we might pull off what would be a consensus Upset. Same goes for Florida. When it comes to KY, it will come down to who is more dialed into their system/game plan and makes the fewest mistakes. KY will be putting a rookie QB on the field with only 1 game under his belt, advantage MIZ. KY has home field advantage. KY has a strong group of running backs but 2 big holes to fill on the OL but we’re last in the SEC in passing last year while MU should have a good secondary that will allow the LBs to key on the run. Possible advantage for the Tigers. MIZ has a seasoned QB with a 67% completion rate along with fast wideouts and slot receivers while KY has 2 big holes to fill at cornerback, advantage MIZ. The weak and strong points go back and forth. It should be a close game but it won’t be a true upset either way. When it comes to Arky, they will be so beat up mentally and physically from their previous 2 games before Black Friday that it might be an easy 6th consecutive win against the Hogs. Now for BC, they have a pretty good QB and are just the opposite of KY in that they have a pass happy game plan and just barely averaged 3 yards per carry last year. They do have 9 returning on defense but that group gave up an average of 28 pts per game and 6 yards per carry. They do have the home field advantage but MU should be able to out muscle and finesse them. I won’t even get into Georgia, except to say that would be a huge upset, if we were to win. -MIZ
Honest question, do any wins or losses beyond 3, maybe 4 years really have any value in regards to the upcoming game? Mizzou beat Fla in Mullen’s first two years but when he was able to play the players he had recruited and taught his system, our butts got spanked the last 2 years. I was only able to find 10 of the 26 Mizzou players from the 2018 signing class that are on the 2021 roster and only 6 of the 10 show up on the depth chart. My point being that any game results beyond the most recent 3 to 4 years basically are worthless when it coming to analyzing and comparing teams head to head as few, if any, players and a lot of coaches weren’t even a part of the program beyond that point.
It sounds like Tony Buzbee was cut from the same cloth as modern politicians. Fire Sumlin now and it would cost TAM $11.25 million in 60 days plus you would still be left with the DC that failed to make the appropriate adjustments which allowed UCLA to make that comeback. As a Mizzou fan I can empathize with Buzbee's butt hurt but firing Sumlin now would be like throwing gas on embers in an attempt to drown them out.
I wonder if that "chain" is from the "Mr T Collection"?
Kudos to the Mizzou O-line! After last year you are a much needed relief! But it's a little too soon to be patting each other on the back as the competition so far has been moderate to horrible. The offense was C minus at best against West Virginia and tolerable against and overrated Georgia (play calling in second-half sucked. Trying to run out the clock with a six point lead and plenty of time on the clock was definitely wrong) now all the kudos or raining down after demolishing a Delaware State team that some strong Texas high schools could beat. Maybe Mizzou can pull an upset this coming weekend however we are far from a ranked talented team for now. M I Z....
