I disagree with the author for several reasons. What Tennessee did is not relevant. Their choice not to fight Butch Jones doesn't mean that other teams shouldn't. A more relevant measure would be to look at the average salary for similar positions (not being subsidized) to what Bielema is currently doing. I would guess it's much higher than he's being paid. Another thing I disagree with is that it's not his fault he isn't interested in being a head coach. Sure, he is welcome to choose not to be a head coach, but he is contractually obligated to try to find similar employment. If he chooses not to pursue similar employment, then he should not be owed the money. I'll admit I'm biased as an Arkansas fan, but I do feel Bielema and the Patriots have taken advantage of the buyout to underpay him.
