yeah, but Saban actually knows how to manage people. It is yet to be seen if Freeze knows how to handle anything outside of a burner phone.
Jalen Milroe will at least be able to walk now when he's 40 because of this departure.
People are overreacting to it. Right now the only one that truly hurts is Downs. Bonds was not a big loss, Proctor was not a true 5 star and every Bama can just go back and watch the tape on that. The ones that went to FSU were mostly guys who were going to start at one point and time and did not work out. Amos leaving is kind of bad I suppose, but we can get lateral move talent in the portal. It's not as bad as people think it is and if they didn't want to be at Alabama, they can see themselves out.
Downs leaving certainly hurts, but Kaden Proctor leaving just insures that poor Jalen Milroe will be able to walk when he's 40 years old
I love the hire as an Alabama fan and alum. We needed a winner and this guy gets it. He has already taken some of the steps needed, including keeping Freddie Roach and that is huge for recruiting. I think they are trying to bring T-Rob back to keep some of those CBs. If it makes you feel better, he beat the team that beat us by two scores with this West Coast team. Even if he drops a game to UGA this year, we would still make the playoffs. It's a different time.
I can't believe that so many people are sad about this. I've been counting the minutes for this to be over. The long commercial breaks, the constant replaying moments from old games. I understand that the kick six was a big moment, but ultimately Auburn went home to let the whole SEC down against Florida State. And of course there is Gary who is the ultimate contrarian with every fan bas. Good riddance.
You have been in the East for too long...TAMU is the South Carolina of the West. They might beat you from time to time, but they are in no condition to be put in the same category as Bama, UGA, LSU, and even OU (I'm not even putting Texas in that group until they prove it).
We will see more of this as NIL truly takes hold. Smaller teams with no Championship past but tons of rich boosters will completely change the landscape and it has already begun. I'm here for it personally, but it's going to piss off the powers that be and the traditionalists. RTR though...
Deion Sanders doesn't want to coach in the SEC just yet, and that is why he is entertaining the offer from Colorado. He needs to get his feet wet before jumping into the SEC and Jackson State isn't a great litmus test for that.
I actually picked against us on our local pick'em this week. I saw this coming after watching a couple of Tennessee games. I'm a realist, but I have also seen us humbled like this against Ole Miss and Texas A&M only to come back and win the NC. I'm not saying that it will happen, but losses do crazy things to locker rooms full of talent.
We might see Tennessee again in Atlanta if we win out. It was a good game. Congrats to Tennessee.
Your point about Bo Nix is fine...but it doesn't derail Alabama. If Alabama beats Arkansas this week, we win the SEC West and play UGA for the SEC. If we win the SEC championship, we skip over an undefeated Cinci and maybe even a one-loss team from another conference. There is no way the committee doesn't put the SEC champs into the playoff. Now, that doesn't mean that I think Alabama beats UGA...just fixing your scenario.
Not Gus...we need another coach known for developing QBs...Gus literally lost his job for that flaw.
This game might be the most important game in the whole bowl season and I'm an Alabama fan. This bowl game shows the importance of why we need an expanded playoff system. UF would not have had kids sitting out if they had been in the hunt. The bowl games are already there, just use them as playoff games. Nothing moves slower than old men holding on to old ideas...
