Yhe only glaring thing wrong with these lists is OM TE Engram on 1st team and Not Henry from Ark. Switch them.
There's no way in hell LSU wins 11 games this year. 8-5 team. Will start 0-2 in conf. play as well. Book it.
I wouldn't say 9-3 is "Best Case" for them. There isn't a game on their schedule that isn't winnable. Will they win them all? I doubt. But "best case" would be Winning the west with 1 or 2 losses IMO. They are probobly an 8-4/9-3 team. 7-5 would be underachieving bc they do have best player at best position in league and that's pretty critical. L @ Ark, L @ Auburn, and will Split Bama/OM games IMO finishing 9-3.
I really think any team could win the West this year except maybe LSU or A&M.
Should be 1. Saban 2. Malzahn 3. Mullen 4. Freeze 5. Miles 6. Beliema 7. Sumlin
I meant Pinkel, it auto corrected to Pommel
That's why 10 years ago he would be #1 by a mile but he's getting Older and the game is changing.
Ole Miss has NEVER won the West correct? And technically it was tied for MState's 3rd best year ever. Also, it could be said for Ole Miss that even with yall beating them you have still finished behind them for 5 straight years. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Should be ... 1. Auburn 2. Miss. State 3. Texas A&M 4. Arkansas 5. Alabama 6. Ole Miss 7. LSU
No they won't. I watched their spring game and they will once again have the best Offense in SEC. Even if Defense gives up a lot of points like last year that Offense plus Dak will get them to the 8 win mark at worst.
Yea they definitely peaked at the start of the year and fell flat at the end. Within the first 6 weeks of season though they would have beaten anyone in the country.
Miss. State might not win as many games this year as they did last year but they WILL be just as good. Schedule is a lot harder this year as well which adds to that. They will win AT LEAST 8 games but I see them going 9-3. W/ Losses to Auburn, Arkansas, and 1 more. I think they beat Alabama this year in Starkville though. If they do I think they go 10-2.
They have their reasons but I can't remember a list I've disagreed with more...I would rank them on which coach I would rather have to start a team/program from scratch... 1. Saban- best coaches of all time 2. Mark Richt- say what u want but he's consistent with everything 3. Malzahn- has a chance to be great 4. Pommel- what he has done at Mizz is incredible. 5. Mullen- What he's done at MS is incredible. Imagine him @ an LSU 6. Freeze- great at recruiting. Meh at in game coaching 7. Spurrier- 10 years ago he's #1 8. Miles- imagine him at a MSU, Mizz, or OM. Don't think he could win there 9. Beliema- need to see more, style of play is antique. 1 in hot wife 10. Jones- could be higher but need to see more 11.Sumlin- great flag football coach/defensively illiterate 12. Stoops- meh 13. McElwain- wait and see 14. Mason- sorry about your luck. * 4-6 are interchangeable * I'm not as high on Miles as everyone else * these are if I was starting a new team and had my pick of coach.
They will be just as good if not better as far as starting lineup. Depth won't be as good or experienced but I didn't like their rotating defenses anyway. Will compete for the West.
I agree with everything you said. Kudos
Good list. I agree with everything except I would drop LSU to 6th in west and move the others up.
You are correct. My dad played at State so I keep up with them even though I went to Alabama. State will be just as good this year as they were last year. May not mean a better record bc conf. Is so tough but I can't believe how many people are overlooking them. I think yall finish 9-3
I understand the bias bc we all have it but Ole Miss is not the 3rd best team in the league. 4 players do not make a team. OM will be very good but not elite. I think they finish 9-3.
I figured Anthony Dixon would have been on here. He is ALL MSU had for a year or two.
I thought Towles was UK's starter? I thought he was really the only weapon they had. Kid is pretty good.
He is legit. Isn't he pretty small though for NFL standard safeties?
Ha for real. Everyone is an all American according to those guys.
I agree and I'm sure most people do as well that Tredwell was best WR pre-injury and very well could still be the best but I would have a hard time putting him #1 until seeing him play again. That's probably the same thing the writer was thinking
I stand corrected. I guess I was thinking more of their bowl game. Mizzou vastly underrated every year as well. When will they learn?
I think Dak will be the best QB in the nation this year. I don't think you will see many designed runs for him either unless in a goal line situation. The improvements he has made in the passing game just from end of season until now is amazing. He just keeps getting better. He has the potential and the work ethic to be a first round pick this year. I remember seeing him play his sophomore year behind Russell and I can't believe it's the same QB. His intangibles are rare. He gets compared to Tebow a lot but the only thing I see there are the same character traits and size. Daks arm talent is head and shoulders above Tebow. If I am a dual threat QB in high school right now I'm kicking down the door to go to MState and learn under Mullen. Amazing what he can do with these guys.
It amazes me the lack of knowledge about some of these teams from you guys. I don't think yall realize how meaningful it is for a team to return the best QB in the league by a mile especially when the other teams have no QB or an unproven one. Arkansas would have beat anyone in the country IMO at the end of last year, they play with an edge. They are better than LSU, A&M, and Tenn. LSU at #6 is baffling to me(they are incompetent at the most important position and no one fears them anymore) and I don't get all the love with Tenn. Yes UT will be better but the #5 team in the SEC? C'Mon. I don't mind OM at #4. Although I don't think they will be anything special on Offense, their defense will probably be the best in the nation and as we saw last year that will give you a chance to win any game. I know it's pre season rankings from someone who doesn't matter but It just annoys me the lack of knowledge about some of the teams when compiling these lists. 1. Alabama 2. Auburn 3. Georgia 4. Arkansas 5. Ole Miss 6. Miss. State 7. Tennesee 8. Missouri 9. LSU 10. Texas A&M 11. Kentucky 12. South Carolina 13. Florida 14. Vanderbilt Also, I'm all for doing away with divisions. Keep 2 permanent rivals and alternate the rest. Add a 9th game as well. It would be hard for any team with Auburn's schedule to go unscathed having to play the west + a Georgia every year and another east team.
Pre-Injury there's no debate that Treadwell is the best WR in the SEC. Until we see how he bounces back I don't have a problem with him being #3. If he is the same Treadwell from before then I would rank top 5... 1. Treadwell 2. D. Williams 3. D. Wilson 4. Noil 5. Cooper
