Why do all that work and research to see what every transfer did last year when you already have a good narrative in your head?
TCU from last year comparison? Sure, we'll take it. F kU
To answer the question, Burden is making the team famous all over the country. But the team is not getting too excited or daydreaming about what they could do this season. They are focused on outlasting LSU this week and next week they will be even more nervous, if that's possible, about facing Kentucky on the road.
He rushed for over 500 yards last season, most of it coming after his injury and has three rushing TDs this season. He belongs just fine. He’s gotten better each game this season and proved he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC.
Looks like it's going to be a shootout vs LSU with how poorly both pass defenses are playing.
One of these consequences of the offense scoring so quickly is that the defense doesn't get at much time to rest. But also the defense isn't getting home as much on blitzes compared to last year.
Playing through an injury may have impacted what you saw
I had the same reaction too. Mizzou starts all seniors or grad students. On the bench, only Diarra (jr) and Shaw (fr) aren’t seniors or grad students. Also, Gates and the players he brought over were in the tournament in 2021.
You had the perfect setup right there in front of you but you chose to go with, “prove it” instead of “show me”.
Guys, we need someone to write up the Missouri game. Hey Ethan, It’s your turn, isn’t it? “But I don’t know anything about Missouri”! Sorry kid, you’re up.
I would have put the defense as the #1 ‘variable’ for why we won, not second. Also I’d say the Kentucky game and New Mexico State are the best chances to become bowl eligible. A win in Columbia vs Arkansas would be nice of course.
I like the retro logo while facing an old foe.
I'm excited that the defense looked much improved, despite a few hiccups on long pass plays. Lovett looked like WR1 even though the attention went to Burden. Hopper was a force and will shore up the run D. Vaughn will be a good measuring stick this week. I also expect Martinez to run a lot as his passing game can't be relied on.
I see a lot of production moving to the receivers this year, with a slight chance of hitting the jackpot again with the RBs.
Perhaps it's more appropriate to comment directly on those articles instead of trying to kick other teams while they're down?
That's a subjective measure that we won't know the impact of until games are played. Are we measuring transfers against whom they're replacing? Are they in areas of need or areas of strength? Specifically regarding SC, do you think their O-line can protect the new QB? In any case, it doesn't matter what we think, it'll all be settled on the field.
Perhaps not the strongest SEC team lately but Mizzou did have the leading rusher in the SEC last season. I don't see a repeat this year as they'll probably go by committee.
We saw how the offense performed with an immobile quarterback last year. I think Drink wants to add a running dimension to the quarterback position and probably didn’t want you pursue Daniels too hard. Also he’s injury prone. I’m happy with Cook and excited to see how he’s developed during the off-season.
That's probably what, "Mizzou went 1-4 against ranked teams in 2020" was referring to.
That would help with the sheep I suppose.
Legend must be a fan from a rival team and acts like a giant douche to make all Georgia fans look bad. right?
Agreed! Hope the team doesn't focus too much on the revenge aspect and just takes care of business.
