Jeremy Pruitt is ranked tenth in this list. Ahead of him at #7 is Mark Stoops. I get that Stoops has a larger body of work to compare, since he's been the head coach at Kentucky since 2013. But Pruitt is 2-0 against Stoops in his 2 years at Kentucky. Kiffin is ranked 9th, presumably because he's more exciting than Pruitt. But Kiffin hasn't been an SEC head coach since 2009, when the Tennessee team he coached got smoked 42-17 by an Ole Miss team coached by Houston Nutt. He was 6-6 at Tennessee. Also ahead of Pruitt is Mike Leach, who is a solid coach with a record of building programs but has never been a head coach in the SEC. In 2 seasons, Jeremy Pruitt has gone 13-12. Not very impressive, but considering that Tennessee had a 2-5 record at the midway point of this season that's quite a turnaround. I'd rank Pruitt either 8th or 9th. 2020 will be a big year for the program. The simple fact is though, unlike a under certain former head coach, the players have bought in and enjoy playing for Pruitt. Tennessee is heading in the right direction.
