All of the comments about the author are dead on, but since he is too lazy / stupid / stuck on hot takes to ever listen to facts I’ll share a little research on the schedules of the top 7: UGA: 4 ranked wins total 3 vs ranked teams in a row last 3 weeks 4 vs Top 20 ranked teams 2 vs Top 15 ranked teams 1 Top 10 win Next best is Washington: 4 ranked wins total 3 vs ranked teams last 3 weeks (only other team besides UGA to face 3 ranked teams in a row all year) 4 vs Top 20 ranked teams 2 Top 15 ranked teams 1 Top 10 win The only other team to face ranked opponents in 2 consecutive weeks was Texas ( and you have to count #24 Kansas back in week 5) Texas has 4 ranked wins (1 Top 10 vs Alabama , vs #12 OU, and vs #23 KSU and # 24 Kansas) Ohio St has faced only 2 ranked teams all year (#9 Norte Dame in week 4 and #7 Penn St in week 8) Michigan has only faced one ranked team all year #10 Penn State) Oregon has only faced 3 ranked teams all year, but that is including #19 Colorado in week 4 and they lost one of those games! They only have 1 Top 15 win all year and a close loss! Alabama has faced 4 ranked teams with a 3-1 record. They have 2 Top 15 wins and 0 Top 10 wins. So Chris please explain to me how UGA’s schedule is supposed to hurt them in the eyes of the committee? Maybe you are trying to be outrageous with your takes, but you need a modicum of truth behind what you write.
I know it might break your narrative, but UGA was never in a “one score” game in the 2nd half at UK. 16-0 in 2nd half became 16-6. I know math is hard, but a 10 point lead is not a “one score” game.
I always look forward to this column on Sunday morning, but I was a little disappointed with your takes today. Of course there will be and should be fines for the Florida brawl. Not sure what you were thinking when you typed that opinion. Also, Auburn has no shot against Alabama. Beating a mediocre to poor LSWho doesn’t somehow make Auburn a threat to Alabama. Did you not watch any of their first 4 games?
