Per ohiostatebuckeyes.com, Nov. 22, 2011, "And because of the Big Ten Conference decision to play a nine-game conference season beginning with the 2017 season, Ohio State made the request to Tennessee to cancel the games the teams were scheduled to play in 2018 (in Columbus) and 2019 (in Knoxville)." And, "Ohio State and Atlantic Coast Conference member North Carolina have agreed to a home-and-home series. The teams will meet in Columbus on Sept. 5, 2015 and in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Sept. 23, 2017." Who knows; perhaps a time warp excludes Sept. 23, 2017 from the 2017 season. The pressure for conferences to play more in-conference games really favors the Snow White conferences - the ones with plenty of dwarves. This argument is only going to get worse. The winner? The Snow White conferences with less damaged teams looking good in their one decent OOC (bowl) game at the end of the year. It makes it easier to hide behind the chump nine conference game requirement, and belittle other conferences for scheduling lesser OOC teams. Those lesser teams need the revenue - just like the OSU women's pistol team by the way. If conferences stayed reasonable in size AND region, they could wouldn't be having the discussion about having to play more in-conference games because X can't play Y for another 20 years otherwise.
