While Tim Tebow has impressed with his power-hitting at the plate, his throwing still needs some work.

During pregame warmups before Tebow’s Columbia Fireflies took on the Lakewood Blue Claws, a throw got away from Tebow and the fan seated behind the visitor dugout was on the receiving end in a rather painful way.

“They were warming up and throwing in front us, and I wasn’t paying attention,” Doug Brustman told the New York Post.

“I hear this guy behind me yell, ‘Watch out.’ And as he’s yelling, the ball comes right through the railing and hits me right in the nuts. It was a direct hit.”

Brustman, a New Jersey resident, used his time in the spotlight to rib Tebow for his failed NFL career.

“It was literally like a Seinfeld episode. The guy behind me shouts, ‘It was TEBOW,’” said Brustman. “It reminded me of his days with the Jets when he couldn’t complete a pass. This guy is so inaccurate, even with a baseball.”

Despite that, Brustman and his daughter, who idolizes the former Heisman winner, both wound up with Tebow autographs.

In a hilarious detail, Brustman was wearing a Tennessee hat.

“I said, ‘I think you saw my hat and beaned me with the ball.’ He looked at my hat, laughed and fist-bumped me. He didn’t have to come over. How can you hate him? He’s almost too good to be true.”

What a way for Tebow to possibly win over a new fan. For Brustman, one assumes it felt a lot like watching Tebow against the Volunteers from 2006-09.
