Anthony Richardson launches 60-yard pass for first TD of 2024
Anthony Richardson was already showing off his rocket arm during the 1st quarter of the 1st game of the season.
The Indianapolis Colts suddenly had their 1st highlight of the 2024 season.
The former Florida star avoided pressure from the Houston Texans defensive line before firing a 60-yard touchdown pass to Alec Pierce, hitting the wide receiver in stride to give the Colts a 7-3 lead with 5:12 left in the opening period.

Richardson is starting his 2nd season with the Colts. Last year, he went 2-2 as a starter, throwing for 577 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Like at Florida, Richardson did damage with his legs, too, as a 1st-year pro, rushing for 136 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Unfortunately, Richardson’s rookie season was cut short. On Oct. 9 of last year, he was placed on injured reserve due to a Grade 3 AC joint sprain suffered in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. Richardson was initially only supposed to miss 1-2 months.
But 9 days later, the Colts announced that the 4th overall pick in the 2023 draft would miss the rest of the season. Richardson underwent season-ending shoulder surgery on Oct. 24.
Now Richardson is back though, and he’s showing off that arm once again to go along with his ability to escape pressure — just like he did on the TD pass to Pierce.
For “the rest of the story,” here’s the boxscore stat line for AR-15 in a 29-27 home loss to Houston:
47% CMP Rate, 212 Yds, 2 TDs, 1 Int. + 6 Carries for 56 Yds Rushing
Subtract that 60-YD TD pass from the above passing stat line and we get an awful QB performance for the full game. That’s remarkably consistent with what he did at UF.
The woke $34 million investment the Colts made on AR-15’s “potential” is NOT working out… so far.
