The theme music for the “SEC on CBS” is one of the most iconic in sports, and especially popular with SEC fans.

The first playing of that introduction to the 3:30 p.m. ET game on Saturday will be this week when Alabama meets Florida at the Swamp in Gainesville. On Friday, CBS Sports released an intense drum show featuring paint and flames to kick off the new season.

The 11th-ranked Gators (2-0) will get the stiffest test to date against the defending national champion Crimson Tide (2-0) in the SEC opener for both teams. Alabama is more than a two-touchdown favorite in the game.

This is a meeting of streaks.

Alabama has won 16 in a row, a streak that dates back to the Citrus Bowl victory against Michigan on New Year’s Day in 2020. But against the SEC East, Alabama has won 31 straight since losing to Steve Spurrier and South Carolina on Oct. 9, 2010.

Florida, meanwhile, last beat Alabama in the 2008 SEC title game. The Gators have dropped all 7 meetings since, including a 52-46 decision in Atlanta in December.
