CFB Twitter reacts to Florida landing transfer commitment from Arik Gilbert
Arik Gilbert’s decision to transfer from LSU to Florida was a hot topic on social media Sunday.
Reaction to Gilbert’s announcement reached beyond the Tiger and Gator Twitter communities. Even former Auburn wide receiver Anthony Schwartz shared his thoughts on the news. There was also some amusement to Gilbert’s Twitter announcement showing that it came from a Family Dollar.
As expected, Gator Twitter celebrated, Georgia Twitter focused on UGA 5-star tight end Darnell Washington and LSU Twitter reflected on what it means for Ed Orgeron’s squad while tossing in some rivalry barbs. There were quite a few mentions of Kyle Pitts.
Here’s a small sample of what’s being tweeted about Gilbert:

Mullen works the SEC portal like no other. Another nice add from a permanent opponent. https://t.co/FcqCFaR6Fk

Whoa weird to see this article on Georgia's tight ends written earlier this month on the timeline. What a coincidence https://t.co/aot8mzt0ET

Amazing to me how much more attractive UF is to kids after they’ve gone through de recruitment and a year or two of college. Lot of these kids see a lot more clearly the second time around

Arik won’t be Pitts. See him as more of a Cornelius Ingram https://t.co/eSDpn8z3DZ

Gilbert will get a lot of work in an offense with a QB unable to throw downfield.
