Chris Doering cautions Florida fans to hold off celebrating big win over Colorado State
The Florida Gators picked up a big 48-10 win over Colorado State on Saturday evening to improve to 2-1 on the season.
However, the Gators’ wins are against Charleston Southern and Colorado State — not exactly the best of the best when it comes to FBS powerhouses.
Therefore, former Florida receiver (and current SEC Network analyst) Chris Doering cautioned fans to not jump the gun on thinking the Gators are back:
While there was improvement offensively, #Gators fans, do not be fooled by the score. QB is late on most throws, doesn’t anticipate. WR’s can’t separate vs man coverage. OL better but had more to do with opponent. RB rotation needs to be tweaked. Toney still needs more touches.

A road test at Neyland Stadium against the rebuilding Tennessee Volunteers awaits next weekend, and the Gators will need to do better than they did on Saturday to beat the Vols.
Then, a big game at Mississippi State lurks. So things are about to get a whole lot tougher for coach Dan Mullen’s squad.
