McClain is from Lakeland, Florida, so he doesn’t have too far to travel to Gainesville. After playing at Lake Gibson, he’s now at Lakeland High School for his senior season. On the 247Sports composite rankings, McClain is rated 5-stars, the No. 1 cornerback and No. 4 player overall in the class of 2023.

McClain has picked up 25 scholarship offers. Florida, Alabama and Miami appear to be the top 3 contenders to land McClain’s commitment. McClain visited Miami on June 24 and has a trip to Tuscaloosa planned for the weekend of Oct. 7.
