Florida has a quarterback issue to resolve, and coach Dan Mullen after the game on repeated his earlier stance about using the guy who gives the Gators the best chance to win.

But he also opened the door to a “drastic change” after QB Feleipe Franks was 9-for-22 passing for 84 yards, and QB Kyle Trask was 10-for-18 for 126 yards and a touchdown. Franks also had three carries for 17 yards and a TD. Trask’s touchdown was to Josh Hammond on fourth-and-8.

“We’ll see if there’s a drastic change this week,” Mullen said after the game. “We’re going to go with the guy that gives us the best chance to win.”

Franks was benched late in the third quarter, and the crowd roared in support when Trask led Florida on a 75-yard scoring drive highlighted by two fourth down conversions. Freshman Emory Jones, who saw limited action against Georgia, did not see the field in the Missouri loss on Saturday.

This is clearly a big decision for Mullen as he was largely hired because of his past performance at Florida with quarterbacks, and the Gators’ offensive struggles in recent years. Interestingly, the Gators will get a glimpse at that history when Will Muschamp and South Carolina visit next week.
