Dan Mullen reveals Florida star TE Kyle Pitts' status for Saturday night's game vs. Arkansas
Florida TE Kyle Pitts took a big hit from a Georgia defender last weekend. The defender was ejected for targeting.
Unfortunately, Pitts suffered a concussion on the play, so his status was in question for this weekend’s matchup against Arkansas.
On Saturday morning’s SEC Nation on the SEC Network, Florida coach Dan Mullen revealed some bad news on Pitts’ status. Not only will Pitts miss the Arkansas game, Mullen said he’s also expected to miss next week’s Vanderbilt contest:
#Gators TE Kyle Pitts (concussion) is officially out for tonight's game vs. Arkansas, and is also expected to miss next week's game at Vanderbilt, coach Dan Mullen tells @LauraRutledge on #SECNation.

Mullen: "It's going to be a multi-week deal for him. Hopefully we'll get him back later on down the road this season. The injury that he got in that hit last week a little more complicated than you would originally think."

That’s a huge loss for the dynamic Florida offense. QB Kyle Trask has been playing like a Heisman Trophy contender, and Pitts has been a giant part of that success.
How will the Gator offense look without the biggest matchup nightmare in the country? We’ll see on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
