When Florida takes the field against FAU on Saturday, it will do so with former Miami Hurricanes quarterback N’Kosi Perry as the Owls’ starter. FAU announced the news on Sunday on their Twitter account.

The Ocala, Fla. native was a former 4-star recruit before signing with the Hurricanes from the class of 2017. After redshirting as a freshman, he played in 24 games with Miami from 2018-2020, starting 9 times.

Perry’s best game was a 42-35 loss to Virginia Tech on Oct. 5, 2019. He was 28-of-47 for 422 yards and 4 touchdowns while throwing just 1 interception. For his Miami career, he totaled 2,484 yards passing, 24 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

After not practicing with the Hurricanes this past spring, Perry announced his departure from the program, opting to transfer to FAU to continue his college career. He joins 2nd-year head coach Willie Taggart, who guided the Owls to a 5-4 record and 4-2 mark in Conference USA en route to an appearance in the Montgomery Bowl.

It will be the 4th meeting between the Gators and the Owls and the first since 2015. Florida has won the previous 3 games between the 2 programs.
