A redshirt senior Florida specialist appears to no longer be a walk-on.

Long-snapper Jacob Tilghman announced Wednesday that he has been put on scholarship.

“Blessed to announce that I’ve earned a FULL SCHOLARSHIP for football at the University of Florida! It’s been a long time coming but I wouldn’t change what I’ve been through for anything! Stay on your grind and you’ll get what you’re working for! #BeatMiami 🐊 @GatorsFB,” he tweeted.

Tilghman, who appeared in three games last season, replaces Ryan Farr as the starting long-snapper.

Tilghman brings Florida’s scholarship count to 78 for the 2019 season, according to Thomas Goldkamp of Swamp247. Earlier this month, offensive lineman Tanner Rowell was also put on scholarship. The NCAA limit is 85 players on scholarship during the college football season.
