Florida DB who guaranteed win over Kentucky says Wildcats 'came and slapped us in the mouth'
Leading up to last Saturday’s rivalry game between Florida and Kentucky, Gators defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson guaranteed his team’s 31-game winning streak in the series would continue.
Now he and his teammates are dealing with the fallout of their streak-snapping, 27-16 loss at home.
Speaking to reporters Monday, Gardner-Johnson gave a blunt assessment of what occurred between the Gators and Wildcats in The Swamp.

Kentucky racked up more than 300 rushing yards to rally from a 10-7 halftime deficit and finally end its decades-long funk against Florida.
Though Gardner-Johnson’s most recent prediction came back to bite him, he offered another forecast for the Gators’ fortunes this season.
Gators DB also made another prediction, saying team would respond: "Trust me." https://t.co/RmiXyl2Jkz

We’ll see if this prediction was on the mark when Florida (1-1) hosts Colorado State at 4 p.m. Saturday on the SEC Network.
