Billy Napier’s wide receiver room will lose some depth and experience following a report that Jacob Copeland, a redshirt junior, will enter the transfer portal.

The Pensacola, Florida native appeared in all 12 games this season, and started 11 games. He was the Gators leading receiver with 607 yards and 4 touchdowns on 39 catches. The news was reported by Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports. Copeland had a pair of big games, including 8 catches for 102 yards against Missouri, and 5 catches for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns against South Florida.

Last season, Copeland played in 11 games, and recorded 23 receptions for 435 yards (39.5 avg.) and 3 touchdowns on the season.

Copeland came to Florida out of Escambia High School, and was a big-time recruit as a 4-star with 32 offers. He reportedly chose Florida over Alabama, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
