Teez Tabor didn’t make much of an impact in his first two seasons with the Detroit Lions. Now, the former Florida cornerback’s career is taking a different turn.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, Tabor will be cut from the Lions ahead of Saturday’s deadline for NFL teams to trim their rosters to 53 players. Tabor was selected in the second round of the 2017 draft by Detroit.

Although Tabor was a high draft selection, he didn’t play much in two seasons with the Lions. He started five games and totaled 42 tackles in 22 games.

Tabor didn’t play in any of the Lions’ four preseason games due to an undisclosed leg injury. He returned to practice on Monday after missing nearly four weeks.

Tabor, who played for the Gators from 2014-16, is still only 23, so he should get another opportunity to continue his NFL career.
