Former Florida DB Brian Poole signs new deal with New York Jets
Making it in the NFL is an uphill battle for undrafted free agents, but former Florida defensive back Brian Poole continues to land a spot on pro rosters.
Poole, entering his fifth season in the league, has reportedly re-signed with the New York Jets. Poole’s agent Drew Rosenhaus relayed to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport that it is a one-year deal for $5 million.
Poole signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 after not being selected in the NFL Draft. He played with the Falcons for three seasons (2016-18) before signing with the Jets in free agency a year ago. Last season, Poole recorded 48 tackles, 5 passes defended (including an interception) and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus ranked Poole as its No. 9 cornerback in the 2019 season. Over four years, Poole has totaled 255 tackles, 5 sacks, 25 pass deflections and 5 interceptions.
Poole confirmed Rapoport’s report on social media.
