It’s been a long time coming but Florida has finally agreed to play a true non-conference game outside the state of Florida.

The school announced on Wednesday that the Gators have reached an agreement to play Pac-12 school Colorado in the near future. The first game in the series will take place Sept. 9, 2028, in Gainesville with the Gators making the return trip to Boulder on Sept. 8, 2029.

Florida’s trip to Colorado will be the first true non-conference road game the Gators have outside the state of Florida since 1991 when the team traveled to Syracuse.

Florida and Colorado have never met on the gridiron.
