In case you didn’t know, Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson became an overnight sensation thanks to his heroics Saturday against No. 7 Utah. He now has become the talk of sports media, and everyone wants a piece of him.

During a segment on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” former Alabama QB and current ESPN analyst Greg McElroy raved over Richardson’s ability to keep drives alive en route to a 29-26 upset over the Utes. While discussing the Florida gunslinger, McElroy made a comparison to one of the greatest dual-threat quarterbacks to grace the college football field in the 21st century.

“Anthony Richardson is unbelievable,” McElroy said. “The guy is just incredible. The player he most resembles when he plays the game is Vince Young. Just with the ball in his hands as an athlete, he’s incredible.”

Richardson, a native of Gainesville, finished  17-of-24 passing for 168 yards. He also tacked on 106 rushing yards with 11 carries and scored 3 touchdowns, including the game-winning 1-yard run with less than 90 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

Richardson became the first Florida quarterback since Tim Tebow in 2008 to throw for 100 yards and rush for 3 touchdowns. For his efforts, Florida coach Billy Napier was also named the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week.

The No. 12 Gators return to ‘The Swamp’ to face No. 20 Kentucky on Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastern time.
