Social media went wild on Thursday about the possibility of Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow reuniting in Jacksonville. It was reported by NFL insiders that Meyer had brought in his former Florida quarterback to work out as a tight end.

In an NFL Draft press conference, Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke confirmed the report.

“He did come in. I can’t even remember — several weeks ago. Worked out as a tight end and that’s the position he’ll be playing,” Baalke told reporters. “Right now, where it stands, we’re going to get through the draft and our whole focus, quite honestly, has been on the draft. We’ll worry about that when the draft is over.”

Tebow retired from baseball on Feb. 17. A week later, he appeared on Adam Schefter’s podcast and was asked about Meyer coming back to the Sunshine State (via 247Sports):

“I’ll be honest, we’ve always talked pretty regularly, even when he’s been far off in Ohio,” Tebow said. “He’s on the board of my foundation. He’s heavily involved. He’s helping us raise money this fall to rescue girls out of trafficking. We talk quite often. I’m excited about this opportunity for him, for his family, his daughters, his son Nate, Miss Shelley. I think they’re really excited as a family.

“I don’t think they’re going to be living too far from me. I know they’ll have good neighbors, and I just wonder if he’s not going to cut his yard or not. … There’s no chance. You know that he is not cutting his yard.”

Tebow was in the NFL, as a quarterback, from 2010-13 and 2015. He last played in an NFL game with the New York Jets in 2012. He joined the New England Patriots in the offseason of 2013 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.
