The Jalon Jones saga in Gainesville has come to an end as the four-star 2019 quarterback signee is reportedly on his way to Jackson State.

The nation’s No. 10-ranked dual-threat quarterback prospect out of Richmond, Va. signed with the Gators and enrolled early on campus in order to participate in Florida’s spring camp. After playing sparingly in Florida’s spring game, Jones made the decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Soon after that news, it was revealed Jones had been accused by two women of sexual battery on Florida’s campus.

Jones was never charged with a crime but that news appeared to signal the end of the freshman in Gainesville. Now, according to Bob Redman of 247Sports, Jones is prepared to move on to Jackson State. If you were unaware, Jackson State is an FCS program in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, meaning Jones could see the field in 2019 and will not be forced to sit out the upcoming college football season.

While Jones never saw the field in a regular season game in Gainesville, he may have a lasting legacy as the former roommate of Chris Steele. With Steele now gone from the program, he left and is on his way to join Oregon’s team, that incident may be the only memorable imprint Jones leaves on Gator fans.
