UCLA fired head coach Jim Mora on Sunday, and now the Bruins are going to be in competition with Florida and Tennessee to see which school will make the biggest splash hire.

Kelly is apparently on UCLA’s short list of candidates, along with — get ready for it — Jim McElwain.

Could McElwain end up helping Florida out here?

It’s possible. If UCLA were to hire McElwain to come coach the Bruins, that would leave the door wide open for the Gators to go get Kelly. Although, it seems unlikely that UCLA would call McElwain before Kelly.

You know, just based on the track records.
