When you hear the words of Kentucky running back Jojo Kemp from earlier tonight, it certainly doesn’t sound like a player on a team that’s lost 27 straight to its divisional rival.

“A couple of my [high school] teammates actually went to Florida, so I’m familiar with a lot of those guys,” Kemp said to the Kentucky media. “It’s going to be fun walking out with a victory and rubbing it in their faces.”

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops had said earlier this week in his press conference that his team wouldn’t need to added motivation of a 27-game losing streak to Florida in order to prepare even harder for the Gators. Kemp certainly proved that Tuesday night. However, the same can’t be said for the Gators, who may just use Kemp’s words to add a little more fuel to the fire come Saturday night around 7:30 p.m.

For Kemp, the disdain for the Gators began as a child.

“I was actually a Miami [Hurricanes] fan growing up,” he said. “So I never really liked the Gators.”

We’ll see if Kemp is able to backup his words this weekend and lead the Wildcats to their first win over the Gators since Nov. 15, 1986.
